Job Description

Job Purpose:

This role is for a strong technical Engineering Lead who is highly detail-oriented and dynamic individual responsible to strategize the Technical Architecture of the Payments Technology transformation. In this role, the successful candidate will envision and implement the Engineering strategy for Regulatory and business critical strategic implementations in the P&R space.

The successful candidate will ensure that the a robust, future proof Engineering Design is implemented which would scale up for ever growing business use cases in Payments and Receivables space and would bring in the resiliency to achieve great client experience.

Job Background/context:

TTS Global Payments & Receivables Technology is undergoing radical transformation through the rollout of a new strategic technology stack for Payments processing and this role is fundamental in delivering major enhancements within Global ISO program; enabling the business to achieve their growth ambitions will be the cornerstone of the project objectives.

The successful candidate will be strong technically with the hands on Technical knowledge and be able to lead the Engineering team to implement the Engineering strategy. The person will need to be highly detail-oriented and very comfortable operating in an agile delivery environment. Also strong stakeholder management skills are the must as the role will require them to engage with a broad and global set of technology, operations and product stakeholders. Excellent Technical skills with hands on coding experience are strongly desired alongwith the verbal and written communication.

Good knowledge of Payments flows, whilst not a mandatory requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

The requirements and responsibilities for the role include (but are not limited to) the following:

• Design good and robust Engineering solutions which are future proof and scalable for the ever growing Payments world.

• Proactively notify stakeholders of risks, bottlenecks, problems, issues, and concerns.

• Compliance with Citi’s System Development Lifecycle and Information Security requirements.

• Implement robust CICD pipeline for seamless Production Deployment.

• Lead and motivate the Engineering team to work on the greatest of technologies and ensure to follow the great Engineering culture.

• Drive a continuous improvement mind-set on delivery through use of retrospectives and follow through on identified inefficiencies

• Engage proactively with Production Support to ensure that stability asks are understood and proactively taken care in the Engineering Design.

• Be proactive in ensuring the technical stack is evergreened and doesn’t incur technical debt

Person Specification

Skills:

• Strong Engineering skills and Engineering mindset.

• Exposure to Java and related object Oriented frameworks (like Spring, Hibernate)

• Strong Database skills in Relational as well as nosql databases like (Oracle, MongoDB etc.)

• Experience in leading projects in an agile environment, implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery mind-set

• Exposure to cloud deployment technology (OpenShift, AWS, Azure etc)

• Excellent communication skills and able to communicate with all levels of the organization from junior developer to Director and flex the communication approach accordingly

• Ability to understand and assess a strategy and ensure that the project objectives support that strategy

• Continuous improvement mind-set which ensures a constant forward motion in the quality, timeliness and efficiency of delivery

• Experience working in a global team whilst representing the regional context

• A good understanding of Payments end to end flows will be highly beneficial

• Good exposure to SWIFT MT and ISO formats is highly desired.

Qualifications:

• Relevant education to degree level and/or relevant practical experience
