What we’re looking for:
The Instructional Designer is responsible for defining and developing multiple components across a curriculum of Support Readiness eLearning and Instructor-led training materials (e.g. Product Release Training, Foundational Product Training for new hires to support, instructor guides, student guides, daily agendas, marketing & communication materials, etc.). In addition, the Instructional Designer is able to drive end-to-end development, including research, analysis, design, development, testing and problem solving.
Primary Duties:
Completes the planning phase of content development with minimal guidance, including: drafting and finalizing project plans on behalf of a project or project team and organizing andconducting/facilitatingproject meetings
Completes the research, analysis and design of content with minimal guidance, including: partnering with SMEs within Support to conduct a job-task analysis, determining instructional strategies, developing measurable objectives, and designing a course structure
Completes the timely development and release of content in accordance with existing departmental processes and standards with minimal guidance, including: Writing content, interviewing SMEs and documenting information accurately, applying style guidelines, submitting drafts to peers and SMEs for review and incorporating feedback.
Leads collaboration efforts with others during all phases of development with minimal guidance, including working with: Programs, SMEs, Stakeholders, Experienced Content Developers, and Readiness Specialists.
Develops reinforcement activities (such as exercises, practices, and review questions) and supporting materials (such as course descriptions, and facilitator guides).
Performs self-edits and coordinating/ facilitating content reviews including SME interim reviews, Alpha/Beta review, content walkthroughs and peer reviews.
Leads a project to ensure timely delivery, and works alongside Support Readiness peers to consistently publish quality deliverables.
Qualifications:
Demonstrates expertise in using some of the following tools or technologies, along with departmental templates and processes to manage and develop content:
Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint
Adobe Acrobat Professional, Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline
HTML/DHTML/CSS
Demonstrated knowledge in Kirkpatrick levels of evaluation & creation of assessment strategies for on the job performance
Bachelor’s degree (Instructional Design,Professional/TechnicalCommunications, Computer Science, English, or Education preferred)
Typically requires a minimum of 5-8 years of work experience
Demonstrated expertise applying a structured approach to writing business and technical documentation for conceptual and task-based content
Demonstrate expertise working to specific style guidelines and use of rapid course development methodology & practices
Experience working in highly technical environments
