This position will be emphasizing on setting, Implementing & maintaining labor cost standards through GSD methodology, methods & process engineering standards & project management. Based in India, this position will primarily create, manage & maintain the GSD database and will be supporting the implementation of the GSD for Columbia and work in collaboration with Columbia vendors in implementing the same. Proactively working on continuous improvement of the GSD database to make it user friendly and improving the accuracy of the SMV values.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Department :

Cost Engineering department supports the business by driving the supply chain with focus on setting and delivering costing standards and provide technical expertise for cost improvement and negotiation for CSC products. Cost Engineering team supports larger Costing and Profitability team in achieving Predictable, Competitive and Sustainable cost. Cost Engineering will establish costing tools and guidelines which will be used as a standard benchmark for cost evaluation and analysis.

Position Introduction :

This position will be emphasizing on setting, Implementing & maintaining labor cost standards through GSD methodology, methods & process engineering standards & project management. Based in India, this position will primarily create, manage & maintain the GSD database and will be supporting the implementation of the GSD for Columbia and work in collaboration with Columbia vendors in implementing the same. Proactively working on continuous improvement of the GSD database to make it user friendly and improving the accuracy of the SMV values.

HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Manage, Develop, and maintain a SMVs (Standard Minute Value) database to calculate the SMV of all Sportswear and Outerwear products leading to labor cost calculation

• Create operations, feature and style level database based on the best manufacturing process to establish competitive time targets for all the Columbia products.

• Working collaboratively with the core global GSD team to drive the implementation of GSD for Columbia and CSC’s vendors.

• Engage with vendor GSD team in standardization & alignment of the manufacturing processes.

• Engaging in-depth discussions of operation level GSD analysis with the vendors GSD practitioners to eliminate differences in SMV

• Collaboratively working with vendors in developing a manufacturing environment/policy for Columbia products and periodic review of the documents for updates.

• Continuously explore process improvement opportunities for SMV reduction.

• Adhere to GSD project implementation timelines and ensure database is ready on time for all the products.

• Be the subject matter of expertise to train the Costing analysts, PE’s, Costing engineer’s and Merchandiser’s on how to use the GSD system.

• Support on other costing project initiatives related to improvement of process and estimation/calculation of SMVs for cost predictability and competitiveness as required.

• Travel to LO’s and factories for project follow up and trainings.
