Job Purpose:

To support the Yard Supervisor in coordinating and supervising all activities within the port yard, ensuring the efficient, safe, and timely handling, storage, and movement of containers and cargo in accordance with company standards and port regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in supervising daily yard operations including container stacking, retrieval, and dispatch.
• Monitor yard equipment usage and report malfunctions or delays.
• Coordinate closely with planning, transport, and terminal teams to ensure container availability and flow.
• Implement and maintain yard safety procedures, ensuring team compliance with safety standards.
• Manage yard clerks and equipment operators, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure accurate documentation and system updates for container movements.
• Support the Yard Supervisor in shift handovers and operational reporting.
• Escalate operational issues or delays promptly and suggest corrective actions.
• Participate in training new staff and ensuring adherence to SOPs.
• Enforce environmental and waste management guidelines in the yard area.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime, Supply Chain, or related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in port or container terminal yard operations.
• Familiar with terminal operating systems (e.g., Navis N4) and yard planning tools.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a shift-based environment.
• Knowledge of port safety and regulatory compliance standards.
