IT Application Analyst – Plan to Build
Description
Provides comprehensive application functionality, configuration and support expertise for application software solutions; works with business analysts, architects, technical experts and software vendors on the solution requirements, design, configuration, functionality gap resolution, implementation, support, maintenance and enhancement of the applications.
Assists in the analysis and evaluation of application functionality. Documents recommendations to increase utilization of standard application functionality to improve business processes and capabilities.
Contributes to the determination and documentation of optimum application setup and configuration to meet functional requirements and specifications. Configures and verifies application setup and configuration.
Develops expertise in emerging application and solution trends and functionality. Provides functional recommendations for assigned applications and systems.
Contributes to the analysis of potential application solutions, Able to document recommended solutions to address functionality gaps in the application.
Works with vendors to improve application functionality and resolve functionality issues.
Documents and reviews functional, architecture and technical requirements and designs for process owners, business analysts, and architects.
Contributes knowledge and serves as a contact resource for content, processes, procedures and functionality associated with assigned applications for projects and application support (as needed).
Documents functional specifications for a given project from which programs and configurations will be applied to create the program, application, or complete solution.

Skills
Solution Design – Creates and defines the solution design complete with instrumentation and measurement, using industry standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to synthesize diagrams, models and documentation in order to build a solution that meets buildability, business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Functional Fit Analysis – Composes and decomposes a system into its component parts using procedures, tools and work aides for the purpose of studying how well the component parts were designed, purchased and configured to interact holistically to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Modeling – Creates, designs and formulates models, diagrams and documentation using industry standards, tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Configuration – Configures, creates and tests a solution for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications using industry standards and tools, version control, and build and test automation to meet business, technical, security, governance and compliance requirements.
Solution Validation Testing – Validates a configuration item change or solution using the Function’s defined best practices, including the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards, tools and metrics, to ensure that it works as designed and meets customer requirements.
Business insight – Applying knowledge of business and the marketplace to advance the organization’s goals.

Education, Licenses, Certifications
College, university, or equivalent degree in Information Technology, Business or a related subject required.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Minimal relevant work experience required. 1-3 years of experience

This is an excellent opportunity that will allow you to shape the design of our IT planning solutions across Cummins for years to come. Reporting to the Planning IT Leader, the candidate will be responsible for helping Corporate Supply Chain IT to deliver IT solution that allows our businesses to transform supply chain planning.
Successful candidate will be part of the “Advance Planning Solutions Program”. This multi-year program is in partnership with Corporate Supply Chain Solutions, Corporate Planning (Transformation and Integrated Supply Chain) function as well as the business units to consolidate disparate demand and supply planning systems to increase agility, responsiveness, reliability and end to end visibility. Delivering best in class planning solutions using the modern technologies in SaaS Cloud while supporting existing on prem applications such as i2 Demand Manager, Next Generation Planning BOM (NGPBOM), Blue Yonder sequencer, Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning.
The candidate will be expected to provide IT solution analyst services that will include mainly below activities –
Conducting requirement analysis and data analysis, identify opportunities of improvement, document findings and publish findings to business stakeholders
Support data load activities
Conduct system Unit testing, Flow testing, performance testing, regression testing and analyse system performance as per the requirements.
Document technical specifications for reports, system configurations and customisations as per Cummins set procedure and standards
Support monthly release (enhancements and defect fixes) management for production migrations
Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Collaborating with development teams, Business teams, Integration Services teams to develop and maintaining productive working relationships

Detail Oriented with strong organisational skills
Able to work in a team environment, where the success of the team is paramount
Any knowledge of ERP system and supply chain planning will be useful
Ability to work independently and to take responsibility.
