Danaher`s Water Quality Business is a global leader in water quality analysis and treatment, providing instrumentation and disinfection systems to help analyze and manage the quality of ultra-pure water, portable water, wastewater, groundwater and ocean water in residential, commercial, industrial, and natural resource applications. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sr Database Administrator will work collaboratively with business stakeholders and the Global Data Governance (GDG) organization to serve Hach’s current and future database needs with focus on designing, implementing, and continuously improving Data Warehouse Database landscape.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives for Results
Support global Database Infrastructure by implementing industry standard methodologies.
Lead Database infrastructure projects spanning hybrid on-premises and cloud technologies
Implement Database Infrastructure lifecycle management and capacity planning
Maintain and support SQL landscape, Servers, DB’s ETL and other processes.
Solve sophisticated database problems and take a broad perspective to identify innovative and sustainable solutions
Maintain and implement IT standards, policies, and SOPs for Database Administration
Relationships and Influence
Collaborate with Datawarehouse team to implement data structures in SQL and No-SQL data bases.
Work with the development team to establish standards as new technology arises.
Collaborate with GDG and IT teams to design and deploy, development and production infrastructure.
Process improvement
Identify innovative solutions and continuous improvement opportunities
Continuously strive for operational excellence and develop automation strategies to improve productivity
Develop applications, systems, and automations to improve service levels and productivity
Drive the use of Danaher Business System principles and tools in implementing IT solutions
Interpret operational challenges and recommend solutions to improve processes and services
EDUCATION & PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
7+ years ’ experience with SQL Server Database Administration
Five or more years of professional experience administering enterprise Data Warehouse databases
Require depth and breadth of expertise in Azure cloud database Platform and SQL Server
Advanced understanding and experience in Disaster Recovery for database infrastructure
Familiarity with data security, storage solutions, database virtualization and replication in Azure
Experience with configuration management and automation
Experience or understanding with DevOps, CI/CD, GitHub, Test Automation in Data Services area
Experience with Integration tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica) preferred
Experience with supporting P owerBi environment
Knowledge of Erwin modeler is a plus
Experience with graph database modeling and implementation (e.g., NEO4J) is a plus
Multilingual capabilities are a strong plus (e.g., English, French, German, Mandarin, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.)
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
Experience with leading database projects in a global environment
Capacity to be largely self-directed on a day-to-day basis.
