• DIRECT REPORTS : All Functional Heads at Plant. Summary Key Responsibilities: Your responsibilities including but not limited to the following:

The candidates will be responsible for complete operation of the Unit. He has to act as profit center head, provide overall direction, and control the entire plant operations focusing on the key KPI’s on productivity, quality, cost delivery, human development and customer satisfaction.

He has to ensure the delivery of target output from the Unit at the desired budgeted cost, desired quality and time; drive improvements and change initiatives at the Unit level; develop the plant strategy in line with overall group strategy; be an integral part of the senior team of the group and contribute to growth plans.

To efficiently manage overall plant operations including Quality Production, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Plant Engineering, Budgeted Costs, Commercial activities, etc.

Has to lead and direct the teams to manage unionized workforce. Total employee strength of more than 2000 employees and ensure harmonious labor management relations at the unit with perfect discipline. Provide leadership direction for signing long- term agreements amicably with union.

As leader, he will be responsible for the motivation and development of functional leadership team at Unit level. Page 1/5 Detailed Responsibilities:

• Operational Responsibilities : Effective Planning and managing the all the functions including production and engineering functions at the plant, to consistently achieve the laid down targets / norms in respect of production, quality, cost, equipment utilization, maintaining and healthy balance between the short run and long range objectives of the company, and at the same time ensuring adequate support from the related staff departments viz. Engineering, Stores, Personnel and Industrial Engineering. You would be exercising all necessary authority, as per laid down rules and procedures, to discharge above functions, including the following: (i) Indenting Materials, Spares etc. (ii) Incurring Expenditure. (iii) Sanctioning of leave (iv) Taking disciplinary action (v) Sanctioning of increments and promotions (vi) Administering rewards and punishments In consultation with and in overall guidance of the President (India)
• Manufacturing related responsibilities: 2.1 Manufacture the products efficiently in accordance with the given programme, analyse shortfalls and take corrective steps. 2.2 Maintain the product and process specifications, quality standards as laid down and resolve all quality problems in consultation with the Technical and Quality Assurance departments. 2.3 Ensure that the costs are maintained at the minimum level, within the norms, in all areas, laying down necessary information system / control procedures as appropriate, including the following: 2.3.1 Optimum utilization of raw materials in the production process, controlling waste / scrap at every stage. 2.3.2 Optimum utilization of equipment and controlling waste of spares and other materials used in maintenance. • 2/5 2.3.3 Optimum utilization of the workforce and controlling their overtime work to the minimum level. 2.3.4 Timely submission of reliable data for cost analysis purposes, as required. 2.3.5 Ensuring consumption of fuel oils, HSD, Coal, Electricity, Water, Air etc. is minimum and within standard norms and taking appropriate steps for Energy Conservation. 2.3.6 Maintain proper and necessary procedures to handle waste and scrap materials. 2.3.7 Ensure Pollution Control Norms in line with State Pollution Control Board. 2.4 Organise effectively the equipment maintenance programme so as to achieve the rated output of the equipment and minimum downtime / including the following: 2.4.1 An efficient preventive maintenance system. 2.4.2 Timely availability of spares through efficient planning, indenting and consistent follow-up. 2.5 Take adequate steps for safety of equipment and personnel and follow safety standards of highest level. 2.6 Suggest / implement measures to improve productivity of manufacturing operations, layout, methods etc. 2.7 Miscellaneous assignments given from time to time including the following: 2.7.1 Scrutiny / recommendations of all Capital Budget proposals in connection with Manufacturing, Modernization and Balancing Equipment, Technical, Quality Assurance and other plant operations. 2.7.2 All manufacturing matters related to the expansion of plant including advising the project team on selection of equipment and other issues. 2.8 Ensure effective administration of the plant and effective liaison with various stakeholders. You will closely co-ordinate and liaise all commercial and admin and liaison activities with plant commercial head. 2.9 You will also be responsible for Finished Goods Dispatch, Central Excise and Customs, Costing, Internal Audit and Perpetual Inventory, Accounts, Stores, Security, Safety & Sanitation, Transportation, Horticulture, Insurance and Compliance of various rules, laws and regulations, governing the company and its operations. • Finance & Cost related responsibilities:

To manage and control the budget cost and achieve targeted production.

To achieve targeted return on capital employed.

To continuously monitor project expenditure and ensure the same in in line with the budget.

Review periodically to ensure the reduction in the following costs: i. Wage / Salary Cost. ii. Power and Fuels Cost. iii. Stores and Spares Cost.

Review and control the % of scrap generated in the process.

• People Development and Employee/ Industrial Relations responsibilities:

To develop talent within the team by providing consistent direction and support to achieve stretch targets and take leadership positions.

To retain and engage the talent employed and build a collaborative and high performance team.

To acquire the best of talent in the industry.

Ensure the availability of conductive working environment and take suitable measure to as to increase the Employee Satisfaction Score (ESS).

Motivate people to participate in programs such as Quality Circles, Suggestion Schemes, 5S, Kaizen, etc.

Continuous feedback and communication with the team members and periodical review their performance.

Close interaction with Union for achieving the desired level of Productivity and maintaining cordial Industrial Relations.

Provide leadership so as to build and sustain a well motivated team with high morale, including the following:

Adequate level of intra-department and inter-department teamwork.

Requisite level of discipline.

Healthy union relations.

Proper selection, induction and training of labor at all levels.

Provide leadership direction to develop proactive and harmonious Industrial Relations. Manage external and internal environment from a people perspective to ensure the smooth functioning of the plant operations.

Mentor and coach for senior management team on people and IR practices. Coach senior leaders and line managers on IR management and future challenges.

Be an expert in creating a robust, futuristic, scalable, integrated and competitive workforce planning which enables organization efficiency, higher employee productivity, clear communication etc.

Represent organization at professional bodies, employer forums and suggest policy changes (if required).

• Customer related responsibilities:

Motivate the entire unit team to score the highest customer satisfaction in case of OE customers

To put in place systems and processes to achieve ‘Customer Centricity’ as a key value across all levels of the organization.

To measure ‘Customer Delight’ quotient on an ongoing basis sand use the quotient as an important variable while rewarding performance.

Take all necessary actions to improve the customer satisfactions and establish the system of periodical feedback of the customer.
