Experience: 4-6 years
Network Security Administration
IDS / IPS – Experience.
Support of multi-vendor network security solutions including TippingPoint Intrusion Detection/Prevention System (IDPS), Palo Alto NGFW/ Panorama appliances. Syslog and Splunk log collection, FireEye Network Security (NX, CMS and AX), Snort, Bro, and Unix packet capture tools.
Provide Tier 2/3 troubleshooting either within the tools or as part of an integrated team of professionals addressing larger issues, and escalate issues as appropriate to management
Provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members, both within your team as well as members of our network operations center
Install, configure, and administer the tools (including any work that needs to be done on the underlying OS)
Thorough knowledge of Panorama, WildFire, Threat Prevention, and other Palo Alto features including and not limited to SSL decryption, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, IPS, Vulnerability, DNS Sinkhole, External Dynamic IP Block Lists, and File Blocking
Integrate the tool for RBAC services such as AD, LDAP, TACACS+
Configure the tool to work with system health monitoring tools via SNMP for status
Create and edit profiles appropriate for the Sony Group company environment
Create custom rules
Monitor the tools’ health and performance
Tune tool parameters to enhance/improve system performance
Configure, troubleshoot, and monitor tools’ event flows including the integration into Splunk SIEM
Develop documentation (installation guides, support staff training materials, etc.) to support the mission
Participate in rotating on-call support and off-hours support for critical incidents and upgrades as required
Need to have expertise in Access Control, SSL Inspection, TCPIP, Policy Management.
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience/combined education
Minimum of 4-6 of experience in network security
Previous experience with supporting Tipping Point and using Splunk
Well versed in TCP/IP communications
Familiar with ITSM and ITIL and able to adopt associated processes
Familiar with the MS Office tool suite.
Excellent written and oral communications skills and be able to appropriately present highly technical material to both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and part of a team
Ability to multitask and prioritize work
