DescriptionData ScientistOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Data Scientist/Engineer to join our Risk Adjustment team to help develop and improve our machine learning models for medical coding automation. The role combines both data science and data engineering responsibilities to ensure end-to-end delivery of ML solutions.The successful candidate must be able to quickly learn the existing systems and components, actively participate in expanding the current systems with new components, as well as develop new components using big data and other emerging technologies.What you will do:

• Process and analyze large healthcare datasets to extract meaningful features.
• Build and optimize neural network architectures for multi-label classification.
• Evaluate model performance and conduct error analysis.
• Work closely with engineering team to deploy models to production.
• Stay up-to-date with latest developments in NLP/ML and implement improvements.
• Design and implement data pipelines for model training and inference.
• Build ETL processes to extract and transform healthcare data.
• Optimize data storage and processing systems.
• Create and maintain data documentation.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring.
• Set up logging and tracking systems for ML experiments.
• Develop APIs for model deployment.

What you will bring:

• BA/BS in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required.
• 2+ years of industry experience building production ML models.
• Strong programming skills in Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow.
• Experience with Experience with NLP/transformer models (BERT), multi-label classification, Model evaluation and MLOps, SQL and database management, bash scripting.
• Experience with AWS/cloud platforms, Git version control, and containerization technologies.
• Proven track record of building and deploying end-to-end ML solutions, including data processing pipelines, model training, evaluation and production deployment.
