Job Purpose

• This R&D Scientist II position is part of the New Business Development (NBD) TCMR (Transparent Conducting Material Research) Team at Bangalore. The primary purpose of this position is to undertake the development of next-generation materials and products, such as Transparent Conducting Inks and Films, Flexible, Formable and Printed Electronics (FFPE) inks, Nanomaterials for Sintering Applications, etc. to support various Product Development activities and growth initiatives at MAES.
• This Research Scientist will direct the day-to-day project activity through interaction with technical personnel. Work will include:
  • Working independently to develop new products based on project goals, product targets and specifications provided,
  • Communicating progress and accomplishments through verbal or written reports and presentations internally,
  • Will work closely with and oversee day-to-day activities of Laboratory Associates.
• This role requires proven technical skills as a professional in the field of Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science or related fields, including consulting, leadership, and collaboration working with a team of professionals.

Job Responsibilities

• Creativity and the ability to innovate is the key a requirement for this position. An individual with strong interdisciplinary research experience / focus is desirable.
• He or she is expected to use creative problem-solving approaches, apply scientific concepts and knowledge to derive technical pathways for developing new product formulations per project specifications.
• He or she is expected to apply fundamental concepts, practices and procedures within one or more of the following fields: chemistry, polymer science, materials science, polymer composites and nanotechnology.
• He or she is expected to utilize knowledge of analytical instrumentation, organic, inorganic, and synthetic chemistry, polymer science, materials science and nanotechnology in developing industrially useful technologies across diverse product platform. The primary purpose of this position is to develop next-generation electronic materials and products.
• This individual is expected to take proactive role to identify and source new raw materials as per the project needs.
• This individual is expected to conduct experiments in the laboratory and use of scientific knowledge to execute formulations and experiments in the laboratory in a safe manner.
• This individual is expected to plan and execute different experiments in the laboratory, including formulation preparation, product testing and property evaluation to meet project specifications and customer needs.
• This individual is expected to take responsibility for technical problem solving, data analysis, documentation of laboratory procedures and results, writing progress and final reports.
• This individual is expected to prepare technical reports and summaries demonstrating product performance for group presentations and internal/external customers.
• The successful candidate is expected to be capable of formal and informal communications needed to ensure the highest technical work-product
• This individual is expected to identify IP white space opportunities, prepare technical papers and help with IP and patents
• Perform other duties & projects as assigned
