FICCI Looking For Research Associate – Retail, FMCG & Ecommerce at Delhi, Full Time

We are seeking a dynamic, well-rounded, and highly motivated Research Associate to support the functioning of the Retail, E-Commerce & FMCG Division. The role is ideal for candidates passionate about public policy, industry interface, and ecosystem development in one of India’s fastest-growing and most vibrant sectors.

Division: Retail, E-Commerce & FMCG

Location: New Delhi

Educational Qualification:

• Master’s in Public Policy, Law, Economics, Commerce, or related disciplines from a reputable institution.

Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience in research, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, or event management. Candidates with prior experience in industry bodies, consulting firms, or think tanks will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Track and analyze evolving regulatory frameworks, government notifications, and policy developments affecting the Retail, E-Commerce, FMCG, and allied sectors.
• Draft policy notes, industry representations, issue briefs, consultation submissions, and follow-ups with Ministries such as DPIIT, DoCA, MoEFCC, MEITY, MoFPI, BIS, and CPCB.
• Prepare background notes and sectoral updates for high-level meetings.
• Engage with industry members, associations, regulators, and knowledge partners to consolidate feedback and build consensus on key sectoral issues.
• Assist in organizing industry consultations, working groups, and committee meetings.
• Maintain updated stakeholder databases and nurture long-term industry relationships.
• Draft and manage external communication, including formal emails, meeting invitations, follow-up letters, and industry circulars.
• Support the creation of high-quality presentations, reports, concept notes, press briefs, and event summaries.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of major division events such as FICCI Massmerize, CEO Roundtables, Retail Events, and Stakeholder Consultations.
• Assist in event logistics, coordination with delegates and ministries, preparation of agendas/notes, and on-ground support.
• Support business development and sponsorship outreach for events and knowledge reports.
• Coordinate with Finance and Admin teams for billing, documentation, and vendor processing.

Skills & Competencies:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical, drafting, and presentation abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Interest in consumer goods, the digital economy, sustainability, and regulatory affairs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
