Ford Motor Company Hiring for Cost Estimator at Chennai, India Full Time

Job Responsibilities:

1) Develop physical based Cost Estimates by reviewing drawings/CAD /Bill of Material/ physical parts & their functional information.

2) Support Program Target Setting of Underbody System commodities like – Brakes, Ally wheels, Shock Absorber, Axles, Drive shaft, EPAS, Transmission, Transfer case etc.

3) Develop Cost Gap Analysis and support Cross Functional Teams during supplier negotiations and cost workshops.

4) Support Should Cost (Part/Tooling) for Cost Design Review (CDR) and Engineering Change Control Process.

5) To do the Competitive Benchmarking Analysis of the Commodities and support line walk/Idea Generation Events.

6) Demonstrate a solid understanding of business concept and critical thinking skills.

7) Financial Analysis (Payback, Business Case etc) of the proposed localization / cost reduction actions & recommendation on the financial viability of the proposals.

8) Maintain data integrity, accuracy and use data to generate material cost reduction opportunities.

9) Plan and prioritize multiple task with in the defined period of time.

10) Domestic and International travel is required.

Education Qualification: BE (Mechanical/ Production/ Automobile) or equivalent.

Professional Exposure:

1) 210 years of overall experience in Automobile OEM / Ancillaries with minimum 1 year of PD/Manufacturing experience in Underbody System.

2) Practical Experience/ Good understanding of Casting, Forging, machining, assembly processes is preferable.

3) Technical knowledge of Tooling and Die manufacturing Processes, ED&T, Capex will be an added advantage.

Skill & Knowledge requirement: Good Communication Skills, Proactive attitude and problem solving capabilities, Proficiency in computers especially MS Excel & PowerPoint.

Preference: Female candidates preferred.

Any other requirement: Self driven individual, needing minimum supervision. Go Getter attitude.
