Job Description Summary
The GE Gas Power Data Archival team is looking for a technical & highly motivated individual who can support & enhance the existing in-house archival solutions (GEAR & DocSTAR) ; and when need be, provide technical guidance to the team to improvise or build new solutions for any new demands leveraging the cloud (AWS /Azure) technologies. He/she should work along with the DnA Platform and Governance team to ensure that the solutions are compliant and meets all requirements. He/she will be the point of contact for vendor teams to work on key deliverables and also to manage smaller modules of larger projects.

Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for the requirements, development, testing, and implementation of data engineering solutions, including data modelling, data quality, and semantic/metadata development.
Architect, Design, Build & Support Archiving Solutions in GE Gas Power DT Data Lake eco-system
Solution to be built considering cost, maintenance, end-state vision of Gas Power Data Lake, scalable, using cloud-native technologies & considering ease of user access
Maintains data architectural artifacts and ensures that all measures for data quality, data profiling, data governance, ITIL, security and compliance of data are adhered to.
Designs, profiles, develops, and tests data engineering solutions using multiple ETL tools that move data from disparate source/target systems and the enterprise information repositories.
Proficient in SQL and ETL processes, ETL and DB performance tuning, table partitioning, shell scripting.
Works with Product Owners, and Business SME to identify requirements and drive ingestions standards consistent with business processes
-Responsible for guiding the vendor team to deliver on enhancements for DocSTAR & GEAR applications.
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited university
Desired Characteristics
Preference will be given to current GE Employees or have completed a GE Internship
Skillset
Knowledge of at least one programming language like python , java.
Knowledge of shell scripting and familiarity with Linux operating system.
Knowledge of ETL preferably using Talend
Knowledge and experience of working with multi-cloud environment (AWS, Azure)
Leadership skills:
Partner with other team members to understand the project objectives and resolve technical issues.
Communicate project status or challenges in a clear and concise manner to the cross team members.
