Job Description

Summary This role will be responsible for the overall IT Operational Excellence and continuous improvement for our Services/ Enterprise Outage management applications. The Ops Leader will define and drive an effective IT Operations strategy aligned to the “Big Swing RTS” services team. He/She will be managing and leading the overall IT Operations team aligned to supporting his/ her dedicated OM Products. Operations Excellence includes but not limited to application support, infrastructure support, cost & financial management, organizational vitality, partner relationship, strategic planning, App monitoring strategy & execution and driving simplification opportunities. The role requires strong partnership and interaction with relevant Technical Product Owners, Engineering Leaders, Architects/Tech Leads, Functional Partners, and other Project teams including vendor partners. The incumbent owns and is accountable for application and platform SLAs against operational commitments, application security & compliance partnering with Product Owners, ensuring application & data integrity is met.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will be:

• Responsible for supporting and maintaining critical applications and related data processing platforms and services. Also responsible for application and platform SLAs against operational commitments. Responsible for application security & compliance, ensuring application & data integrity.
• Ensure compliance with all application policies including HPA, security and code reviews across all applications and platforms within scope
• Application monitoring and outage reporting leveraging a consistent tool and approach across multiple applications
• Ensure stable, secure and compliant operations of all the applications in scope and hence the continuity of key business processes
• Proactively drive simplification opportunities within the Outage management landscape for seamless business process flow through automated solutions, bot usage, dataflow, job schedules etc.
• Partner with other pillar application teams to promote application simplification efforts and ensure successful transition of business processes and continuity.
• Coordinates all IM SOX, Functional SOX, and External audits and requests on time
• Seeks opportunities with business leaders to enhance applications, drive valuation creation through IT Ops; recommends and drives changes to increase efficiency, minimize rework and improve quality of data access
• Prepares & maintains a backlog of Application needs & shortcomings & provide recommendations based on experience
• Influences various implementation teams to assess and understand implications for existing applications and processes ensuring process rigor and adherence to program methodology standards across the business
• Be accountable for preparing & distributing key IT application operational support metrics.
• Partner and coordinate with technical development team and CS Functional partners from the beginning of the IT projects to ensure sustainable and operational products are created and transitioned into operations.
• Release management – planning, coordinating & verifying IT deployments into Production, partnering closely with functional stakeholders attaining “proof of testing” and signoff prior to Production deployment and drives communication with external teams / stakeholders
• Manages the whole transition process in line with the GE ITIL based framework and TTO process
• Proactively identifies and removes obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team
• Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation through continuous customer engagement
• Ensure conformance to Operations support standards / practices
• Responsible for internal IT processes like Change Control, application testing, infrastructure maintenance, coordination and communication for outages
• Build strong team relationships with multiple stakeholders including business, support teams, vendors, and end users.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and lead mandatory compliance, productivity, and business initiative
• Encourage our partners to deliver above & beyond; constantly strive for continuous improvements to enhance productivity

Education Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
• Operations Management Experience (Minimum: 4 years)

• Strong Oral & written communication skills
• ITIL certification preferred
• Awareness of Data Engineering, Integrations, etc. will be an added advantage
• Prior experience working/ developing software engineering products will be helpful
