To develop & establish HSE Management system and advice in implementation of Management system, ensuring compliances to statutory to complete the Projects Safely & in time.

The Project Lead -HSE is responsible to assist project head/managers in ensuring the implementation of the HSE Management system, providing HSE guidance. Appraise the project manager on matters of non-compliance and facilitate compliance. Identify the training needs, designing and imparting training for staff, visitor, sub-contractor and workmen. Ensure regulatory compliance and promote occupational safety and health consciousness among all workers.

Key Accountabilities

Project Planning

• Familiarizing and comply with all government regulations, consultant and owner’s HSE procedures and practices.
• Takes an active leadership role in addressing HSE performance and response to
• incidents.

Spokesperson for all of HSE programs, processes and initiatives

Project Execution Monitoring

• Conduct daily tool box talk, safety induction, and develop all the required
• documentation, operational checks and reports for the HSE management system.
• Meetings with the key managers on work practices and Project HSE Issues.
• Represents HSE both internally and externally
• Ensure all contractors are aware of the plan and are following it.
• Inspect and maintain the entire work area in safe and healthy condition. And

Instruct supervisors to take immediate corrective actions if he detects discrepancies

Finishing and Hand-Over

• Monitor compliance with occupational health standards and welfare arrangements.
• To Ensure Proper Housekeeping at work areas i.e., clear of debris, Store all construction materials safely etc

Use checklists with the sequence of actions to be performed by both handing-over and taking-over controllers;

Others

• Survey the environment for latest developments and best practices in construction equipment, techniques and tools;
• Provide inputs to superiors on the feasibility of implementing the same in the Organization
• Contribute to the Knowledge Management initiatives of the Department

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES – Additional Details

EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS

• Interact with external consultants, Vendors / contractors for smooth execution of the projects.
• Interact with Auditors, Govt. officials for HSE related functions and other stakeholders of the project

INTERNAL INTERACTIONS

Interacts with team members, cross functional teams, user departments and stakeholders for efficient coordination of works.

FINANCIAL DIMENSIONS

CAPEX works of up to Rs. 100 – 250 Cr / year

Other Dimensions

• Number of Major projects packages to be handled / managed – 2 to 4
• Number of Contract labor to be handled – 800 workers

Education Qualifications

• B. Tech in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical with Diploma in industrial safety from govt recognized institute.
• IOSH, NEBOSH IGC, OSHA etc as an added certification

Relevant Experience

6-10 years of relevant experience in HSE in Real Estate/ Infrastructure/ Construction/ Related Industry with experience of handling at least one projects end-to-end.
