About The Job
As Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy, you will develop and execute public policy strategy, outlook, and desired outcomes to forge a path forward in India, with impact beyond Government Affairs and Public Policy and direct impact on costs and achievement of objectives under Product Areas. You will determine and execute short-term plans to support the overall operations and strategy of a sub-function within a Government Affairs and Public Policy function to ensure optimal execution against objectives beyond this function.
In this role, you will work within broad objectives/goals, applying advanced domain knowledge to solve complex problems, which may have long-term impact on the core function/sub-function, and act as a key advisor to executive leadership on the development of overall policy and long-term goals. You will serve as the recognized leader/expert in the Policy environment affecting Google’s business operations in the region, with deep knowledge of government and policy landscape to challenge conventional wisdom and existing models, and influence global understanding within the organization.
We help inform and educate users, advertisers, partners, opinion leaders–and our own employees–about the benefits of Google’s products, our distinctive company culture/values and our approach to the big public policy issues of the day. You are quick-witted, entrepreneurial and intellectually curious. To succeed in this role, you are willing to try new things and can manage numerous projects with tight deadlines. Things happen quickly at Google, and to do great work, you need to be an enthusiastic team player who can work cross-functionally with partners across PR, Communications, Marketing, Product, and beyond.
