About The Role

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Cross-Border Trade Expert to join our team and provide strategic guidance in international trade activities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the regulatory, logistical, and financial aspects of cross-border trade, enabling effective management of global transactions and partnerships. Should have expeirence in trading of commodities like Agri, Pharma, Mechanised & white goods.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and identify potential markets for expansion, assessing their trade dynamics and business opportunities
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in various countries
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, and trade partners, to foster effective trade relationships
• Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for cross-border trade operations, considering legal, customs, and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of cross-border trade initiatives, recommending improvements and adjustments to achieve business objectives
• Provide guidance on import/export procedures, documentation, and customs clearance processes to streamline operations and reduce delays
• Analyse and stay updated on international trade policies, tariffs, and trade agreements to optimize trade opportunities and mitigate risks
• Offer expertise and support to resolve trade-related issues, disputes, or challenges that may arise during the import/export process
• Train and educate internal teams on cross-border trade best practices and ensure understanding of compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Trade, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus
• Required 15 -20 years of professional experience in cross-border trade, import/export operations, or international logistics
• Should have expeirence in trading of commodities like Agri, Pharma, Mechanised & white goods
• In-depth knowledge of trade laws, regulations, and customs procedures in multiple countries
• Previous experience of African market
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex trade situations and propose effective solutions
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
• Familiarity with trade automation systems and relevant software for trade documentation and compliance
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
