About Us:

Language and Learning Foundation (www.languageandlearningfoundation.org) is a New Delhi-based non-profit organization with the vision of enhancing equitable student learning, especially language and literacy development, through the professional development of teachers and teacher educators, building/sharing knowledge, and implementing projects in collaboration with state governments. LLF currently works with 7 state governments across the country.

About the programs:

LLF has been running professional development courses and school-level intervention programs on early language learning for government schoolteachers, teacher educators (SCERT & DIET faculty members), academic resource personnel in 7 states, and working with the Ministry of Education and NCERT. These courses follow a blended and online learning model. Over the last year, we have developed various online courses in areas related to Early Language and Literacy, Academic Support, Multilingual Education, and Foundational Numeracy.

In the upcoming year, LLF will be supporting the State of Haryana in implementing the FLN mission. This will be done through multiple programs running simultaneously including school-level demonstration projects as well as technical support at the State-level. Position summary:

The State Manager (SM) will be positioned under the direct supervision of the Director of State Programs and will be stationed at the state headquarters. In this role, the State Manager will spearhead the execution of programs within the state, overseeing a dedicated team. The responsibilities also involve collaboration with various stakeholders at both the state and central levels. This position is multifaceted, encompassing program execution, team leadership, and government linkage responsibilities.

Key responsibilities:

Program Execution:

• Oversee the effective implementation of Functional Literacy and Numeracy Education programs in the assigned state.
• Develop detailed implementation plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
• Monitor and evaluate program activities to ensure compliance with quality standards and desired outcomes.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and inspire a dedicated team, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
• Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment to enhance team morale and productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews to assess and improve individual and collective performance.

Government Linkage:

• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with government agencies at the state level.
• Represent the organization in government meetings, workshops, and collaborative initiatives.
• Work closely with government officials to align program objectives with state educational policies and priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

• Collaborate with community leaders, educational institutions, and local organizations to strengthen program outreach.
• Build partnerships and alliances to enhance the program’s impact and sustainability.

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Establish robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to track program progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare comprehensive reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

• A master’s degree in education, social work, or a related field.
• 10-15 years experience in implementing education programs, preferably with prior experience in Functional Literacy and Numeracy
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Experience in working with Senior Government functionaries.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Familiarity with government education systems and policies.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders, short turnaround times, and changing goalposts.
• Strong familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices
