We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to write the next chapter in our Merchant Engineering. As an Engineering Leader, You will be responsible for handling the Supply Increase portfolio of product/ services within Merchant Engineering. This encompasses the core of our Self Service tools: Campaign Builder and Merchant Inbound Acquisition. Along with this, a platform for holding Merchant data and Deal platform services to create campaigns in downstream inventory. The Business Impact of this portfolio is enormous, as it funnels the lifecycle of Merchant / Campaign in the Groupon ecosystem. You will be responsible for scoping, architectural design, working with other technology teams, and running the iterative rollout of features. All the systems we build/manage are critical to the success of the business. This means quality and reliability are paramount and large-scale launches have to be threaded carefully without impacting day-to-day business. We’re a “best of both worlds” kind of company. You’ll spend time on the following:

• You will work closely with Engineering leaders, service owners across the organization, along with product/ UX organization to identify problems and build effective technical solutions.
• You work closely with Product Management team and enable them by providing scalable and high quality technology solutions at a rapid pace
• You set up best practices for development and champion their adoption and at the same time Architect & design technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions
• Create a clear career path for your managers, team members and help them grow
• Operate at scale and speed, focus on Keeping the lights on

We’re excited about you if you have:

• You are a strong leader and you can attract talent in Bangalore
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• At least 12+ years experience in software development, engineering leadership
• At least 3+ years of engineering leadership including people management
• Strong bias for action
• Solid project management skill and experience in handling distributed development ecosystem
• Deep understanding of technologies and architecture in a highly scalable and available set-up
• Knowledge in developing customer-centric applications
• Knowledge in service-oriented architectures/microservices
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work collaboratively through an agile development process that promotes constant team communication
