About the role

Our Finance team is right at the heart of Hapimart supporting the business through the provision of insight, challenge and control, supporting business leaders to make more insightful decisions. Embedded in a whole range of functions, they support everything from Trading and Marketing to Distribution and Digital. They’re nothing less than essential for our whole operation.

Like with most of our financial roles, we look for individuals with relevant experience and qualifications. For most of our accountancy roles, you should be a qualified Accountant but for some positions we accept part qualified Accountants or those with considerable relevant experience.

As an Accountant you will:

• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Record day to day accounting in Tally software.
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyse financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Compilation of information for preparation of tax returns
• Work with Audit, Tax and Treasury Manager to ensure overall coordination of all financial accounting activities through annual report
• Responsible for TDS/GST/Income Tax Filings and Reconciliations
• Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
• Participate in the on going development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
• Verify physical inventory with computer stocks every month and also by surprise checks, carrying out reconciliation by tracing all GINs, STNs, invoices, SRTs, etc.
• Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Work closely with Finance, Operations, Purchasing and Logistics departments in resolving all discrepancies as well as circulating reporting required.

If you are a person with:

• Graduate or Post Graduate in Accounts back ground PREFERABLY within Retail / FMCG Experience
• Proactive, strong communicator in all forms & at all level
• Excellent planning & organisational skills
• Excellent Computer skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Excel) to at least intermediate level
• Experience with preparing CMA data & projections as per bank requirement for loan process
• Ability to work under pressure, maintaining accuracy & keeping to deadlines
• Strong analytical skills and a technical mind set/proven ability to interpret numerical data
• Ability to influence effectively and build constructive working relationships across the business
