Overview:
Sr. MongoDB Database Administrator

The Senior MongoDB Database Administrator is a highly responsible, technical and administrative database position managing a large scale environment, supporting all environment builds, capacity planning, installations, configurations, replicaset setup, performance tuning and ongoing monitoring. Work also involves providing consulting to multiple development teams on analysis, design, development, and performance tuning issues in a proactive manner – driving improvements in reliability and optimization to the database and application services. This position will primarily support MongoDB Atlas database environments, but other database/data technologies will also be supported including MySQL, MSSQL, Oracle, DataBricks, and Appian among others. Experience with any GCP technologies would be a plus.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform design, installation, configuration and upgrade of databases.Coordinate and approve the creation of primary database objects.Coordinate and modify the database structure, as necessary.Maintain database system security.Analyze and implement data security requirements.Continually improve database administration standards, guidelines, and procedures.Analyze, document and present database technology requirements.Review database development activities to ensure they are performant and in conformance with design specifications and standards.Provide comprehensive database trouble shootingAssist application developers with best practices and tuning.Maintain high customer satisfactionFlexible with work schedule, including on call.
Qualifications:
Education

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field is required.

Experience

Three to five years of hands on experience with MongoDB, specifically in Atlas.Three to five years of experience in Information Systems development and integration.Three to five years of hands on experience with Database High AvailabilityThree to five years of hands on experience in support of application design and development.
