Job Description: Quality Engineer II – Supplier Quality

This position will be reporting to Regional Manager – Supplier Development Engg (SDE). As the Sr Quality Engineer – Supplier Quality, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance to the Field Quality Engineers within the region. In addition the candidate will coordinate with peers within and outside of the organization to improve processes and activities performed by the FQEs.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities.

1. Identify and provide a ‘way forward’ for specific issues involving quality escapes or delayed

2. Evaluation of new Suppliers as per Honeywell Aerospace standards

3. Ensure compliance to Aerospace Procedures & quality requirements for all regional projects

4. Perform all Field Quality Engineering functions at a limited/assigned number of suppliers for the purpose of testing the effectiveness of procedures and policy at controlling supplier quality

5. Support FQE team on Supplier training programs to improve the regional supplier maturity level

6. Provide technical leadership to coordinate advanced quality processes including statistical based variation reduction, PCPX, APQP

7. Drive regional performance improvement initiatives using DMAIC approach

8. Training, Coaching, Mentoring of regional FQE team.

9. Establishes QIP and improvement plans with supplier leadership

Qualifications:
Bachelor of engineering specialized in Mech , Automobile , Industrial Production , Electrical or Electronics with 4-6 yrs of minimum experience of working in Aerospace , Automobile or EMS Industries.

Most recent experience, minimum 1-2 years as supplier quality, managing suppliers.

Expertise in GD&T, Six sigma Tools, APQP, ISO / TS16949, AS9100 Quality system and auditing skills

Hands on experience of working in any one or more commodity – Complex Machining, Sheet metal , Casting , Forging , PCBA / Box build manufacturing

Six Sigma Green Belt certification Preferred

Knowledge and Experience:
1. The candidate must have work experience in at least two of the following areas: Manufacturing/assembly, Quality, Engineering (Design or Mfg.) and Materials

2. Expertise in GD&T, drawing reading

3. Experience in PPAP & First Article Inspection (FAI) approval

4. Basic knowledge on special process like Heat Treatment, Chemical process & NDT is preferred

5. Knowledge of using Six sigma/ quality Tools and APQP (PFMEA, Control plan, SPC MSA etc)

6. Experience on lean concepts like VSM (Value Stream Mapping) is an added advantage

7. Experience on auditing manufacturing process w.r.t. production readiness

8. Knowledge on quality systems like ISO / TS16949, AS9100 Quality system

9. Very Good communication skills. Experience on working with global suppliers/ customers

10. Willingness to travel within & out of India (frequently)

11. Experience of working on MS excel and power point presentation (presenting to leadership)

12. Hand on experience in RCCA/CAMP, IPC610, capacity analysis etc.

13. Experience in Managing Aerospace and Automotive suppliers in India and Globally

14. Ability to learn quickly-
