: Senior Advanced Sustainability Engineer Location: Madurai The Senior Advanced Sustainability Engineer shall support to identify and calculate the environmental impact of products and processes through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) studies resulting in opening up avenues for reducing the environmental impact. This person is a key team member to drive Scope 3 Emission calculation and is responsible for collaborating with the organization to identify actions required to reduce significant impacts in supply chain across Honeywell Products. The person will be responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic direction for meeting the STRAP goals of Sustainability Organization. This role will require coordination and collaboration across several functional teams, Program Management, Engineering, Certification, Applications and other relevant functions. As such, the Lead Sustainability Engineer must possess technical skills and demonstrate the business acumen. Business / Strategic Responsibilities:

• Lead and execute result-oriented actions to meet STRAP goals of the Sustainability Organization.
• Analyze Honeywell products and Manufacturing technologies and/or process and provide appropriate inputs to calculate the required Sustainability metrics.
• Execute actions that is required to meet Honeywell requirements on Science based targets and accounting methodologies for Scope1, 2 and 3 accounting

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Perform environmental lifecycle assessment (LCA) studies for Products
• Analysis of manufacturing process data and Honeywell designed parts to develop life cycle inventories
• Interact with business functions and tools & systems for LCA / Sustainability activities involving products, bills of materials, purchased parts and suppliers
• Support Customer LCA/Sustainability enquiries
• Support product design e.g., BOM Scrub for NPI, to identify Business opportunity and reduce environmental footprint
• Lead sustainability assessments on legacy products and materials used in the business
• Management of Material/Certification issues – Approved Assumption reports
• Provide guidance and support to Sustainability team on LCA/Sustainability methodologies and processes
• Deep understanding of key ISO 14000 & ISO 14040 standards, methodologies and frameworks linked to LCA and Carbon accounting – experience in performing Cradle to Grave and Cradle to Cradle assessments
• Interface with Consultants, Labs, Sites and Manufacturers to address the gaps and come up with complete and accurate LCA data for Products
• Implement streamlined processes across Businesses in data collection, Master Data readiness, Tool integration etc.
• Integrate with and support the SBG Product Stewardship & Sustainability Compliance MOS
• Champion optimization of processes and automation proposal implementation
• Liaise with Strategic Sourcing enabling them to procure sustainable products

HTSIND2022 Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 9 years of experience with lifecycle assessment modeling and sustainability tools or Product Stewardship
• Master’s Degree in Science (e.g. Chemistry, Environmental Science or any Science Discipline) or Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electrical/Electronics, Polymer Science, Chemical)
• Demonstrated skill and experience in life cycle assessment, life cycle impact assessment methods/applications and in conducting uncertainty/sensitivity/scenario analysis.
• Passionate about sustainability, high level of customer focus and an innovative as well as solution-oriented working style
• Understanding of key ISO 14000 & ISO 14040 standards, methodologies and frameworks linked to LCA and Carbon accounting – experience in performing Cradle to Grave and Cradle to Cradle assessments

Additional Skills:

• Strong experience in LCA modeling using one or more of the LCA modeling tools such as SimaPro, GaBi, OpenLCA, etc
• Passionate about sustainability, high level of customer focus and an innovative as well as solution-oriented working style
• Ability to work in an ever-changing environment and drive to continuously improve work practices
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals of all disciplines and levels within and across the organization
• Ability to think strategically and critically analyze details
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification preferred
• Proactive to find out actions needed for continuous improvement
• Strong written and oral communication skills, particularly in cross-functional collaboration and facilitation
