The Role: “Logistics Sourcing Process & Data Analytics COE Team Manager is a pivotal role as part of HPE’s Global Logistics Sourcing strategy. Responsible for setting up Centre of Excellence (COE) for Sourcing Analytics, establishing a data-driven approach in decision making of logistics partner selection and driving cost reduction of HPE’s global logistics spend. A visionary leader to transform sourcing analytics to the next level by leveraging the power of data to drive logistics value creation and cost optimization. Manages a multicultural diverse team of self-starters and passionate data professionals.” Responsibilities:

• Strategic thinker and Visionary Leader to lead the Sourcing Process & Analytics Centre of Excellence team from Strategy formulation through Execution.

• Measured on: (1) Perform: Cost-savings on HPE’s global logistics spend (2) Simplify: Implementation of life-cycle structure & governance to Logistics Sourcing Process & Analytics for all logistics services (3) Innovate: Digitalization & Automation of analytics process by leveraging best-in-class industry tools and practices (4) Develop: Talent Development & Retention

• Manages a team of senior-level individual contributors and Managers that typically support a complex global organization or business unit.

• Builds logistics operational know-how and deep data-mining within team to drive and support logistics sourcing leads to generate cost-savings

• Participates in Logistics Partner selection and contract negotiations along with Sourcing Leads (RFIs, RFQs, Price analysis methodology, Negotiations, Target budget and savings assessment, Risk assessment, etc)

• Establishes Centre of Excellence team and builds a life-cycle approach to Sourcing Process & Analytics by implementing structured methods, governance policies, best-in-class tools to RFPs, data analytics

• Leverages best-in-class industry practices for Analytics COE with use of new database & programming technologies and AI/ ML capabilities

• Drives Automation & Innovation of entire Sourcing Process and Analytics for each mode to migrate from Descriptive to Prescriptive analytics capability

• Develop innovative approaches to review procurement process effectiveness and explore logistics solutions for customers and suppliers.

• Works with multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels to collaborate and support from Logistics Sourcing.

• Acts as a key advisor to senior management on the development of overall strategies and long term goals of the organization.

• Applies expert subject matter knowledge to manage staff activities in solving most complex business/technical issues within established framework.

• Responsible for hiring, setting and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development; ensures that the proper tools are in place to support the team and the processes.

• Collaborates with peers as a team-player in multi-modal, cross-region synergies.

• Meticulous, detail oriented and articulate

• Provide recommendations on all procurement related issues, plans, reports, trainings and metrics.

• Provide education and training to internal staff on procurement policies and best practices.

• Analyze industry logistics and technology trends and market competitions to develop Sourcing COE improvement initiatives.

Education and Experience Required:

• First level university degree or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred.

• Typically 12-15 years of experience in logistics – preferably from Procurement or Logistics industry with deep commercial know-how of warehousing, surface transportation, parcel industry.

• Typically 2-4 years of people management experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Advanced understanding & experience in running a Centre of Excellence (COE) team.

• Deep knowledge of logistics market place and industry solutions across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, Warehousing, Surface Transportation, Parcel and Brokerage services.

• Advanced analytical and data modelling skills with love for data and a know-how of latest technologies.

• Meticulous and process driven to consultatively transform Sourcing & Analytics service offering at HPE Global Logistics.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills, particularly in complex, international, and cross functional teams.

• Ability to multi-task and navigate between strategic & hands-on work effectively.

• Ability to close complex deals in a timely fashion.

• Advanced business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and supply chain modeling skills.
