This role is part of the Chief Control Office (CCO) within Digital Business Services (DBS). The Chief Control Office is part of the 1st Line of Defence. It oversees the holistic end-to-end health of the control environment; provides a forward looking view on risk and controls; drives effective design and implementation of controls; and monitors, advises and challenges control owners on how they are managing their risk. It seeks to apply innovative and forward thinking solutions to risk management in the first line, helping control owners to proactively manage their risks. The Opportunity: The role is within CCO Operations Data Risk strategy team and is focused on enhancing the use of data across Global Operations to provide greater insight into control performance and identify emerging risks and mitigate them before they materially impact the control environment. In addition, these is a major emphasis on developing data-based insights to support the scoping, design and implementation of major strategic initiatives (such as Bank Wide Operations Transformation). The jobholder will be required to support Head of Operations Control Data in driving the data agenda across Global Operations in over 50 locations. This will include all processing activity performed on behalf of all 3 Global businesses. In order to meet regulatory expectations and to provide Senior Management with up to date information regarding standards of controls and compliance with applicable rules. The job holder will be required to support the enhancement of data usage in order to enhance the risk and control environment across Global Operations covering circa 5000 controls c.20,000 staff and geographic spread including number of priority markets, medium and small markets. The jobholder will be required to act as a Subject Matter Expert for Operations Management and CCO Operations in the space of data analysis and data tools What you’ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities): Core role responsibilities includes:

• Support Head of Operations Control Data in driving the risk and control data agenda for CCO Operations.
  • Identify improvements in the data that is captured and utilized to measure the effectiveness of the control environment and the level of risk that is within it
  • Contribute to Risk Management Framework enhancements proposals and other policies to mandate these data improvements through policy
  • Engage with Data and MI teams across the bank (e.g. CCO MI and Analytics, Operations MI etc.) to define and deliver these improvements
  • Support the War on Manual Controls and Bank Wide Operations Transformation metrics design and reporting development
• Support and contribute into definition of the standards for KCIs within Operations. In particular
  • Implementation of automated KCIs for all key controls
  • The KCI output is transparent and visible in easy-to-use tools (such as dashboards) and continuously evolves to meet the needs of the business
  • The KCIs are used to provide a holistic view of the environment through integrating them with other key MI (e.g. KPIs, FTE and cost data
• Support and contribute into definition of data analytics agenda for CCO Operations. Including the capability to use trend analysis, real-time KCI data etc. to identify emerging risks and emerging weaknesses in the control environment
• Act as trusted advisor for the senior management of Operations to manage their operational risk through insightful and appropriate usage of data (for example in risk assessments, control environment assessments and issue resolution)
• Support and contribute into definition of best practice for use of data in governance forums etc. to ensure that each forum is focussed on the right topics and that the data drives decision making
• Support the promotion of accountable risk and control decision-making based on quality data and commercial analysis
• Support and contribute into the development and implementation of future-fit risk management frameworks specifically regarding the use of data;[.

Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:

• Highly motivated self-starter with proven ability to work collaboratively within teams
• Delivery-focused with ability to pay attention to detail and ensure tasks meet required deadlines and to the required levels of quality
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Excellent process analysis and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrable experience of working in a data-related role; data analysis, architecture, data management and / or modelling with hands-on technical experience of using associated technologies
• Familiar with latest AI technology
• Have great understanding using robotics technology
• Flexibility to work on and learn various technologies is a must
• Advanced knowledge of SQL (T-SQL)
• Expert knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel and SharePoint)
• Knowledge of data visualization techniques and dashboard design
• Knowledge of ETL processes, and data warehousing principles
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and to contribute to a larger team; and a flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities.
• Drive and tenacity to ensure change is effectively implemented in a matrix environment

What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications)

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform products like BigQuery, Data Studio will be a plus
• Experience with Python will be a plus
• Experience with business tools like JIRA, Confluence will be a plus
• Experience with Qlik Sense will be a plus
• Experience with Xceptors and Alteryx will be a plus
• Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively with business partners, third party consultants, technical experts across the Bank.
• Proven abilities in working across cultures.
