We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager – Stress Test – Scenario Analysis

Principal responsibilities:

• The candidate would be responsible for supporting HSBC group-wide stress testing scenario analysis team. Key support expected to be around IFRS9 FEG scenario productions, review and challenge. Also support would be expected across spectrum of regulatory/internal stress tests including PRA/EBA/GIST.
• To address macroeconomic/market scenarios using quantitative techniques. Able to communicate with key senior stakeholders’ rationale for scenarios profile, intuition and economic theory with recent economic events.
• Address technically challenging regulatory and senior HSBC stakeholder’s requests including macroeconomic challenges using advanced quantitative techniques. Able to effectively communicate with key stakeholders.
• To manage macroeconomic & market data for several economies & support variable transformations & projection activities for key countries.
• Responsible in full cycle from defining problems, metrics identification to quantify solutions, implementation & production to support senior management.
• Will be supporting macroeconomic scenario reviews across Asian countries for various stress test purpose
• Strong analytical, mathematical modelling and programming skills.
• Quantitative skills to handle time series, cross section & panel data econometric models & insights for senior management.

Requirements
Qualifications – External What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required)

• 3-7 years’ experience in banking industry/financial service consulting
• Post-graduate degree with relevant field (Finance/Economics/Operation Research/Statistics)
• Excellent coding skills in latest statistical packages/apps SAS/R/Python
• Excellent project management and process execution skills across functions (Finance, Risk and Treasury)
• Excellent understanding of macroeconomics, market variables and its fundamentals
• Good knowledge of regulatory requirements as well as financial accounting in the Banking Industry.

What additional skills will be good to have? (List out good to have skills and certifications)

• This position requires strong analytical skills, handling on macroeconomic data, and able to coherently explain the interlinkages between economic scenario variables across countries.
• Experience in banking related products (wholesale/retails) and metrics will be an added advantage.
• Experience in analyzing and designing models to capture relationships between Global macro economy, assets & market variables.
• Hands on experience in some of the regulatory forecasting models
• Past experience in understanding regulatory requirements for Stress Testing and capital management.
