Your Role and Responsibilities

Your Role:

• You are an IBM Cloud Site Reliability Engineer.

• SREs are engineers with the optimal mix of knowledge and skills in software and systems.

• SREs constantly evaluate products and services before and after production releases to prevent, identify and fix problems that impact service availability in deploying, configuring, releasing, monitoring, recovering, and scaling.

Your Responsibilities:

• You are a part of Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service(IaaS) SRE Team.

• A Site Reliability Engineer should have the ability to deliver high quality work on time in a high-energy environment while collaborating and brainstorming with operations and development staff in a dynamic team environment.

• A combination of strong planning, organization, time management skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects are key. The Site Reliability Engineer will also contribute to the maintenance and support of production systems as necessary.

• IBM Cloud Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for ensuring the global availability of IBM Cloud services.

• You will get to work with Fortune 100 Enterprise clients and the largest companies in the world.

• We are a global team, so communication skills (both verbal and written) are critical as well as flexibility to work with team members in other time zones.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience as a Site Reliability Engineer

• Hands on programming experience in Go Lang, Python, or any other programming language

• Proficient in Linux, scripting, command-line tools, and general system debugging.

• Working experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, LogDNA and Sysdig.

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong understanding on the Site reliability and disaster recovery concepts.

• Exposure to working on IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure or any other cloud providers.

• Familiarity with containerd or docker and working experience with Kubernetes.

• Exposure to Virtualization. Required Education : Bachelor’s Degree (BE/MS/Mtech/MCA) in Computer Science
