Introduction
In this role, you’ll work in our IBM Client Innovation Center (CIC), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. These centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a crucial role in analyzing complex data sets, developing sophisticated models, and providing strategic insights to drive data-driven decision-making. You need to have hands-on experience in data science, strong problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business opportunities, design experiments, and deliver actionable recommendations to optimize our operations and drive business growth.
Your Role and Responsibilities
Analyse large and complex data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that can drive business strategy and decision-making
Develop and implement advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical models to solve complex business problems
Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, requirements, and success metrics
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Strong proficiency in programming languages such as PySpark, Python, R, or Scala, with expertise in data manipulation, statistical analysis, and machine learning libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
7-12 years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a proven track record of successfully delivering data-driven solutions to complex business problems
Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models, including feature engineering, model selection, and evaluation
Strong experience in Python and PySpark for data processing and analysis at scale, including familiarity with handling big data and optimizing performance in distributed environments.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Familiarity with banking domain concepts, such as customer segmentation, fraud detection, risk assessment, credit scoring, and regulatory compliance. Experience in the Banking and financial services industry
Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
