IBM Hiring for Open Telemetry developer on z/OS at Bangalore, India Full Time

Introduction

As part of the zSoftware development team, you would be developing, testing and supporting industry leading integration products that are central to digital transformation for large organizations. You will be part of the TXSeries and CICS TX development team (part of CICS portfolio), which is owned fully by the India Systems Development Lab. Being partof this team will provide an opportunity to drive the growth of zSoftware business , hence making a lasting impact on large organizations that have a major impact on world economy.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an IBM Information Management System, Software Engineer, you will use the latest tools and technologies available to deliver state-of-the-art software solutions for the Information Management Systems product. You will be responsible for ensuring that software components are expertly designed, tested, debugged, verified, and ready for integration into IBM’s world class hierarchical database solutions, helping organizations improve their business outcomes in the global marketplace.

This role executes the tasks required to develop or test the Information Management Systems product to ensure it functions according to specifications and client requirements and meets the business needs. Development and testing activities cover all aspects of the product/system including function/component, system, performance and regression.

Successful candidates will have a strong desire to work as senior software engineers through all phases of the software development lifecycle. A foundational understanding of software development principles and testing methodologies such as the Agile Software Development Lifecycle, with a high degree of adaptability, drive, and willingness to accept new challenges is a must.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 7-12 Years of experience in core Java designing, coding, debugging and implementation. solid understanding of Object oriented programming principal, preferably development and testing on z/OS environment.

• Knowledge of App Dev on z/OS is a significant advantage

• Experience in implementing enterprise observability using tools such as OpenTelemetry / ELK / Prometheus / Graphana / Instana for distributed traces and metrics.

• Assembler, C/C++, OpenTelemetry Concepts, JCL, REXX, IMS DB, IMS TM
