Your Role and Responsibilities
In the role of Sr. Test Automation Developer, you would be responsible for Designing and development of Automation Framework and Test Automation for IBM FlashSystem family of storage products, IBM Software Defined Storage portfolio on Public Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud
Responsibilities:
You will be owning and driving product functionality as SME and represent it in global product team. In the role of Test Automation Developer, you would be responsible for –

• Designing and development of Automation Framework and Test Automation for IBM FlashSystem family of storage products, IBM Software Defined Storage portfolio on Public Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud such as AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud.
• You will design, build and troubleshoot complex storage test beds.
• As an Automation Testing Engineer, you will design, build, test and deploy effective testing solutions which reduce the amount of manual effort in the testing process.
• As a Test Engineer, you will be working on different Storage protocols like FC, iSCSI, iSER and storage features like Snapshots, Remote Replications, Deduplication, Encryption, etc.
• You are responsible for applying automated tools in testing of applications across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Support the test team by recommending tools and processes to automate other test activities, such as test management, reporting, test data generation and defect management.
• Evaluate the functional and non-functional requirements for test-ability, test cases and use cases for suitability for automation.

You will work with the senior technical leaders and manager in effectively managing the deliverables through his technical skills and prior experience.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 6 – 14 years of industry experience in Designing and developing of Cloud Automation and Test Automation Frameworks
• Proven knowledge of Automation development process & tools for product development/debugging using Python, Perl, Shell scripting.
• Design, build and execute automated tests to validate applications using C/Perl/Python based frameworks.
• Knowledge on automation tools such Robot Framework (Python) will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience in development of application changes, testing the changes and driving continuous delivery transformation within Scrum teams.
• Demonstrated experience in designing / building test automation frameworks for service and CLI based testing and building an understanding of in-house tools/IBM’s private tools and integration of test automation into Continuous Delivery pipelines.
• Ability to manage change and be open to it good time management and demonstrate sanctity of prescribed deadlines
• Proven understanding of industry standard methodologies in QA – e.g. use of virtual services to test early, ideal mix of UI based versus CLI bases tests, risk based testing coverage, etc
• Proven interpersonal skills while contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Knowledge and hand-on usage of code and defect management tools.
• Ability to meticulously plan and detail test executions and identifying dependencies.
• Profound knowledge of Software Development Process and Testing life cycle, Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Good written/verbal communication skills to report program status crisply and accurately.
• Experience working with Global teams.
• Good technical leadership skills to mentor new team members.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Understanding of storage technologies (Replication , Virtualization, RAID, Block/File IO , compression , encryption ), SAN fabrics, block storage technologies
• Exposure to Open Source Cloud/Test Automation Frameworks
• Exposure to IP storage protocols (iSCSI, NVMe over Fabrics, RDMA) or Fibre Channel ( FCP)
• Familiarity with protocol analyzers, IO exercisers, IO jammers and performance tools
• Profound knowledge of Networking and Operating Systems (Linux preferred)”
