Your Role and Responsibilities
GSI’s are important part of IBM go to market strategy. They are one of the important members of IBM Eco system. GSI’s like TCS, INFOSYS, WIPRO, HCL, TECHM, ACCENTURE, CAPGEMINI , etc. are important from IBM perspective as they influence selection of technology for themselves and for their end customer. It is important for us at IBM to work closely with them and make sure that they understand, appreciate IBM technology, and help us to take this technology to their customers.
You will be part of an organization which supports these GSI for their Global business. You will work closely with them to do pre-sales support, development of ecosystem by enabling them of IBM systems offering. You will be responsible for developing systems play which will involve IBM products and GSI services. While doing this, you will work very closely with IBM GEO teams for pricing support. Business that these GSI will bring to IBM will be in different GEO and very important to communicate and collaborate effectively with them for overall success. You will be leveraging various IBM Systems program which are meant for these GSI to do business successfully. You will collaborate with IBM Software teams as well so that overall picture can be given to GSI’s. You will leverage various education resources which are available to enhance your skills and keep yourself updated on IBM technology that we offer to GSI. You will be working closely with account executive to support these GSIs’.

Responsibilities:
Support to GSI’s in opportunities by designing, Sizing solutioning with IBM Systems offering. Presenting and educating GSI on IBM Technology. Collaborating closely with various teams within IBM (like development, software etc.) to provide support to GSI’s.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Strong Interpersonal Skills and an infrastructure solution technologist who responds to needs of fast paced and diverse customer requirements. The candidate should be able to engage with partner and convince the partners of IBM’s technological & infrastructure solutions superiorities. The candidate should be versatile in skill and competencies. The candidate should be able to
• Assist: Provide technical expertise to IBM partner and assist the partner in selling of existing and emerging IBM technologies.
• Support: Provide technical support for Complex Solutions and enhance partner experience with IBM Products). Also, able to work on large bid to support SI.
• Optimize: Conduct Optimization/tuning on IBM IT Infrastructure Solutions and Improve Price Performance ratio.
• Consult: Consult/demo/Proof-of-concept on IBM Systems Hardware technologies for IBM partner. Must be comfortable in both technical dialogue (understanding the customer’s IT infrastructure technical objectives) as well as a business dialogue (explaining the TCO reductions or ROI benefits of solutions).
• Technology Areas: IBM System offering which includes Power Servers, Storage Products and Solutions.
• Familiarity with Storage Software ( SDx) along with Cloud Offering.
• Storage and Data Protection Solution experience in EMC/HDS/Netapp/HP products would be an added advantage
• Server Platforms like IBM, HP and SUN
• Operating System: Windows, Linux, AIX/Solaris/HP-UX.
• Knowledge of Databases like Oracle, DB2, Sybase, SQL Server on any above-mentioned platforms would help.
• Client/Server technologies, experience in middleware and other applications from SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, and VMware will be of an added advantage.

• Strong Technical and Presentation skills, interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills and customer interaction skills
• Strong understanding of IBM Business partner (SI) needs.
