Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Backup Administrator, you are responsible for L4 level activities maintain backup solutions and Manage storage solution across various accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Adopt the given technology to meet the drift of customer and business requirements
• Responsible for managing the customer’s backup infrastructure using various backup tools like Veritas Netbackup, EMC NetWorker, VEEAM Backup and Replication, ARCSERVE UDP, Symantec System Recovery, Data Domain, Veritas Appliance, OPSCENTER, DPA and VTL’s
• Deploying various backup software and building new backup servers as per the predefined design of the architect
• Performing the post implementation checks for the newly built backup servers and provide basic KT of the backup product.
• Handling the BAU operations in the backup team which includes installing backup agents, modules/plug-ins like NMM, NMDA, NMSAP in the client servers for scheduling and configuring various types of backups.
• Managing the daily customer review & SLA compliance calls pertaining to the backup & recovery operations.
• Performing the daily health check for all backup tools, tape libraries, data domains and all other backup infra components.
• Complete tape management in the backup environment including tape offsetting and recalling them from third party vendors as required.
• Responsible for monitoring & troubleshooting of Networker backup failures and escalating to different teams as required.
• Creating backup scripts for user backup for UNIX and Windows servers
• Coordinate with Vendor for software and Hardware patches/updates/break fix. etc.
• Preparing the Implementation plan for change Request and implementing the request
• Generating and Managing Daily backup reports
• Investigating and Troubleshooting Failed Backups
• Creating knowledge base articles for BAU / L2/3 engineers
• Demonstrated knowledge on VEEAM Backup and Replication 9.5 / 10 and knowledge of Veeam DB, Log, Server and Client Options.
• Validated knowledge on Database backups RMAN, SQL, SAP and Exchange
• Working experience of data-deduplication with respect to Veeam and Veeam Replication implementation and management
• Prior experience on ARCSRVE UDP 7.0 Administration & Management
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts: 24 X 5. Provide On call support during weekend

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum 6 + years of experience in Backup products Veritas NetBackup, EMC Networker, VEEAM and ARCSERVE support for infrastructure that is spread across multiple locations
• Proven debugging and analytical skills with solid grasp of system development methodologies, techniques and tool
• Proficient in implementation, configuration and update of Netbackup master, media server, Networker server and storage node
• Experience in configuring and managing Veritas appliances (5240), Data domains (DD9500, DD3300, DD6300, DD890 and DD670), Tape libraries Oracle SL3000 and IBM TS3500
• Experience in decommissioning of Media server, appliance, Data Domain and Tape library and Knowledge on VTL’s, Backup Tools OPSCENTER, Data Protection Advisor and VEEAM ONE
• Experience in VMware backup concept and implementation and Restore, Basic Knowledge on VMWARE environment along with NDMP backups, NetBackup version 7.7.X, 8 and 8.1.X, EMC Networker 9.1, 9.2.1 and 18.X

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Knowledge on Symantec System Recovery is added advantage
• Working knowledge on Backup and Replications, Veritas Netbackup, EMC Networker, VEEAM, ARCSERVE and Symantec System Recovery is added advantage
• Prior experience in File System Backup, BMR, NDMP Backup, RMAN Backup, SAP MSSQL Backup and Exchange, Data Domains is desirable
