Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Hiring for Conference Tax Accountant at Bengaluru, India Full Time

Job Summary
The overall purpose of this position is to review the completed ledgers using the material the conference submits and file the return through tax advisors, informing the Conference of Payments/Refunds and Making Payments on behalf of the Conference and recovering VAT. Accountant needs a good understanding of international tax & European VAT jurisdictions as they pertain to IEEE’s international conferences and assist with tax planning for IEEE, interpreting, and implementing tax solutions that optimize the IEEE conferences’ tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• The tax accountant is primarily responsible for:• Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports • Reviewing the completed ledgers using the material the conference submits and filing the return through our tax advisors.• Informing the Conference of Payments/Refunds• Making Payments on behalf of the Conference and recovering VAT.• Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors• Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve the process• Make sure that IEEE comply with local tax regulations• Coordinate with the respective stakeholders for tax preparation work• Accurately prepare tax reports as per the timelines• Monitor tax-related changes that affect the organization• Makes recommendations for business and process improvements• Maintaining and revising procedures for tax processes• Keep up-to-date with tax changes and industry trends The role reports to a manager level and manages [0] direct reports.This position proactively works under general guidelines by following established procedures but also works under consultative direction.

Additional Responsibilities

• Specific duties include but are not limited to:• The accurate preparation and timely filing of assigned tax returns:• International indirect tax filings for VAT, GST, JCT, etc.• Other required statutory reporting• Supporting local and federal tax teams as needed• Maintenance and updating of Policies & Procedures• Improve efficiency and controls.• Complete essential reconciliations • Prepare and process tax related entries.• Problem Solving• Uniform indirect tax coordination for IEEE’s global conference business• Monthly administration of the tax transactions• Respond accurately and timely to inquiries from internal and external customers .• Support special projects as assigned.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance Req

Work Experience

• 4-7 years 4-7 years’ experience in Tax or Accounting Req

Skills and Requirements

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
• Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
