About role
To maintain ground-breaking propositions for Magnum and support the next wave of innovations, we are looking for a Solution Architect who passionate about software architecture and is driven to pursue excellence in delivering premier InsurTech solutions.
As Magnum Solution Architect you will be responsible for product design, you will be combing your design thinking techniques, engineering expertise, networking skills and business domain knowledge to ensure success of product roadmap and retain knowledge in Swiss Re
Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyse features and design concept and logical specifications for all layers of product through collaboration with business, Product Owner, Architect
• Make tech recommendations of capabilities which could be used to achieve product vision or reduce technical debt or deliver cloud native design
• Ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture and IT governance policies of the organization for implementation of specific solutions, integration with other systems and the external interfaces
• Validate vendor responses, conduct technology assessments, and review proposals of 3rd party solutions to determine appropriate integration approach

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent in computer science or related field, Master’s is a plus.
• 8+ years of experience in technical analysis and modelling. Familiar with technical architect modelling language and tool such as UML and EA
• Strong background in design and implementation of external services integrations (using REST, SOAP and/or ESB)
• Strong experience with multiple full lifecycle software development processes, approaches and methods (SCRUM).
• Deep expertise in solution architecture with Web application architectures, web services architectures, Relational & non-relational data storage specific, Web application front-end and/or back-end architecture.
• Solution cross-cutting concerns (Security , monitoring, caching, etc.)
• Strong understanding of Mission critical application architecture design, Scalable application architecture design and High-performance application architecture design.
• Strong expertise in Architectural styles , Enterprise architecture patterns, integration patterns, Development patterns, Architecture artifacts and deliverables and release management processes.
• Leadership and good communication skills.
• Broad technical knowledge and hands-on experience in Java and Spring (Spring Boot 2 is plus)
• Experience working in JPA/Hibernate or other ORM technology and Sql or Pl/Sql
• Experience in Full-stack Web development, preferably React/Angular, TypeScript, Node.js, SQL/Postgre DB, API design & development
• Familiar with developing on Azure using native Terraform
• Experience with Azure DevOps (Repo, Pipeline, CICD), Azure Data Factory
• Solid understanding of reusable object-oriented software design patterns.
• Experience in mentorship and working with multi-cultural technical team spread across locations and contracted partners
• A personal demeanour that is collaborative and possesses the following values: proactivity, ownership, continuous improvement
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Domain knowledge of underwriting process or Life insurance business is a plus
• Exposure to the latest design methodology such as DDD (Domain Driven Design) and hands on working experience with distributed computing system using event sourcing, asynchronous messaging as communication channel is a big plus.
