The Fixed Income Division is seeking a Front Office Controls Analyst to join the Business Management team. The role is based within the Mumbai Fixed Income Business Management team, an extension of the Global Markets COO group, which provides direct support to the senior management team and business leaders across the Fixed Income Division.
The successful candidate will support the team to deliver and maintain an effective governance framework. You will contribute to the ongoing administration and oversight of the Front Office control arrangements and processes. You will also be involved in designing and delivering enhancements of controls. You will attend governance meetings and develop reporting, Management Information (MI), and Key Indicators to support the monitoring of business performance in line with the Division risk appetite.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Main areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited to:
Operation and monitoring of Front Office controls, including appropriate escalation of issues. The Front Office controls include, but are not limited to:
Best Execution
Trade cancellation or amendments
Trade reporting exceptions
Supervisory attestation coordination
Trader Mandates exceptions
Maintaining benchmark usage inventory
Cross border activity monitoring
Development and maintenance of procedure documentation for the Front Office controls
Development and production of reporting, MI, Key Risk Indicators on Front Office controls
Establish and maintain a comprehensive inventory of Front Office controls
Opportunity to shape and evolve the Front Office control framework through involvement in the development and enhancement of existing control and development of new controls.
Assisting in the coordination and preparation of Front Office Governance Committees (e.g. Product Governance, Best Execution)
Reconciliation and coding of trading related invoices (e.g. brokerage, clearing, execution fees).
Other areas of focus may include:
Develop an understanding the 2nd line control functions and internal policies across business. process and their interaction with 1st line controls.
Conduct risk assessment and gap analysis on certain business processes.
Assist in the identification and mitigation of key operational risks.
Build relationships by communicating and influencing with business heads, team members, and other corporate functions.
Adapt control framework to demands of new and changing business environment, particularly legislation and regulation, and work with technology and support functions to provide solutions.
Promote and implement global and regional best practice in terms of systems and controls.
Qualifications
Candidates with good knowledge of Fixed Income sales and trading acquired in a similar role and/or an understanding of financial regulation and financial risk management methodologies and techniques will be preferred.
2-3 years of Work Experience
Expert with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and other Office applications is required.
Excellent communication skills. Keen attention to detail.
Ability and confidence to liaise with Senior Managers and Regional team counterparts.
