Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll help build a meaningful engineering discipline, combining software and systems to develop creative engineering solutions to operations problems. Much of our support and software development focuses on optimizing existing systems, building infrastructure and reducing work through automation. You’ll join a team of curious problem solvers with a diverse set of perspectives who are thinking big and taking risks. In this environment, you’ll take the lead on relevant projects, supported by an organization that provides the support and mentorship you need to learn and grow. As an SRE, you’ll be focused on running better production applications and systems. Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and debug automated tasks (Apps, Systems, Infrastructure)
• Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems
• Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases
• Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions
• Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns
• Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands
• Participate in the 24×7 support coverage as needed

Additional Skill set :

• Verification of the logical environment prior to deployment.
• Verification of HW inventory records related to the deployment.
• Knowledge on Terraform and Block Storage technologies
• Good Exposure on Telemetry
• Knowledge on validating the data stores
• Good Knowledge on VLAN and Port Groups concepts from Network (Management VLAN and Native Vlan)
• Any preparation for the build activity, eg requesting/verifying access, raising/checking/chasing approval for change records, populating PRIME requests, cable matrices, build layout diagrams etc
• Possess knowledge in configuring iDRAC, iLO and LENOVO.
• Hands on experience in technical steps involved in creating and configuring Datacenters and clusters in vCenter.
• Good Knowledge Other Tools : Service Now, HPSM, Putty, vSphere web server, Storage Netapp, ILO, iDRAC, DNS, DHCP, tools from different environments .
• Knowledge on ESX 6.5 & 7.0 on HP and Dell Vendors for multiple hardware models in the new data center.
• Knowledge on Netapp Solidfire & Block Storage in the new data center.
• Knowledge on new ESXi hosts including creating vswitches, creating Port groups and configuring the Traffic shaping policies.
• Addition of the host to Virtual Distributed switch as per the network layout diagram / design for various hardware and as per the Service Design.
• Working on core VMware products vRelaize operations Manager to monitor the environment and take precautionary measures to keep the Virtual Infrastructure healthy and effective.
• Working on core VMware products VCF & NSX environment and take precautionary measures to keep the Virtual Infrastructure healthy and effective.
• Assuring healthy servers to production by adding the servers to patch life-cycle management in pre-production.
• VSS, vDS, Resource Pools, Host Profiles, VM Kernel, ICSASI, vMotion and Snapshots and VM monitoring knowledge.
• Have knowledge on advanced system, Security Profile and network configurations on ESXi.
• Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Objected Storage attached to VMware environments
• To check the Physical Rack and Stack progress of Physical Servers through different Tools and inventory systems
• To check and maintain inventory management System for all the servers and make sure it is updated correctly as per standard
• identify the Hardware configurations different from the standards given and inform the build team on the same
• To be able to communicate and update the progress of the tasks on a timely manner making sure the process is transparent
• Have Knowledge on different Physical Serves Vendors like HP and Dell and LENOVO for different models
• Have Knowledge on multiple Build and automation Tools ( RackN, VMS, SuperCell and Magister)
• Excellent Team work and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Excellent “collaboration” skills with different teams
• Ability to take tasks and projects and work them through to completion with the help of documentation and, if necessary, support from other teams (eg engineering) and team lead
• Ability to take ownership of the completion of assigned tasks
• Must be comfortable working in a high pressure environment where change failures are not tolerated.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a software engineering discipline
• Mastery in at least two or more software languages (e.g. Python, Java, Go, etc.) with respect to designing, coding, testing, and software delivery
• Adept in the development of automated tools, systems, and services in multiple technology domains
• Advanced knowledge of one or more infrastructure components (e.g. networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization, compute, and storage systems)
• Proficiency in service-level changes to a system and troubleshooting components
