Job Description for Sales and Business Development Executive (BDE) in Government Sectors Position: Sales and Business Development Executive Location: Chennai, India Department: Sales and Business Development Job Summary: As a Sales and Business Development Executive (BDE) in the government sector, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic business opportunities with government agencies and related organizations. Your primary goal will be to grow the company’s presence within the government sector by establishing and nurturing relationships, understanding government procurement processes, and achieving sales targets. Key Responsibilities: 1. Government Sector Analysis: Conduct research and analysis of the government sector, including government agencies, departments, and their procurement needs. Stay updated on government policies, regulations, and initiatives that could impact the company’s products or services. 2. Business… Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the government sector. Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of potential government clients. Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions to meet government clients” specific needs. 3. Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders in government organizations. Attend government meetings, conferences, and events to network and promote the company’s offerings. Build rapport and trust with government clients to become a preferred supplier/vendor. 4. Proposal and Tender Management: Prepare and submit proposals, bids, and tenders in response to government procurement opportunities. Ensure compliance with all government procurement requirements and guidelines. Collaborate with the legal team to review and negotiate contracts. 5. Sales Targets: Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets within the government sector. Monitor and report on sales performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth. 6. Market Intelligence: Provide regular market intelligence and feedback to the management team, helping to shape product development and marketing strategies. 7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to government contracts and procurement. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field (masters degree is a plus). Proven experience in sales and business development, particularly in the government sector. In-depth knowledge of government procurement processes and regulations. Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
