About this Opportunity

Knox City Council has an exciting Temporary full time opportunity from June 2022 until June 2023 available to be a leader our Arboricultural Team. This position oversees tree planting, capital works programs and town planning applications (impacts to Council street trees). The position aims to ensure the efficient and effective planning, programming, and delivery of these works. Works include delivery of street tree renewal and infill planting programs, reactive inspections and ongoing tree maintenance. This position is also responsible for the development and implementation of tree policies, procedures and management plans for open space maintenance

This is a Band 6 classified role, remuneration will be $89,229.98 – $97,452 plus allowances (depending on experience) plus 10% superannuation.

What you will need to thrive

In order to be thrive in this position you will have:
Advanced Certificate / Diploma / Degree or High level National accreditation in Arboriculture combined with significant experience in tree management.

Demonstrated project management experience and an understanding of applicable technology and its development and highly developed PC skills including strong Word, Excel and Project experience.

Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate contractors to achieve established standards of performance.

High level communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.

To be capable of addressing issues in a positive and professional manner and the ability and willingness to mentor staff within the open space (trees) team.
