About the Opportunity
Our Reserves team are excited to announce we are now looking for a Gardener to join our team on a full time permanent basis. The purpose of this roles will be to maintain, upgrade and rehabilitate garden beds and open space assets in accordance to service specifications and be skilled across the various Parks Services to meet operational priorities. Key responsibilities will include ensuring the maintenance and upgrade of specific garden areas whilst making technical and horticultural decisions to ensure agreed service and productivity levels are met. In addition, this role will also estimate relevant materials required whilst liaising with suppliers, internal team members and members of the public.
What You Will Need To Thrive
Demonstrated experience in gardening work including maintenance of native and indigenous vegetation. Safe and competent operation of light mechanical plant.
Demonstrated knowledge of estimating and ordering materials, and working to plans.
Values and Behaviours aligned to those of Knox City Council.
Demonstrated ability in setting up Road Side Traffic Management.
Certificate 3 or higher in Horticulture, Parks, Sustainability or Environmental Studies
Vegetation management experience within water sensitive urban designs highly beneficial but not essential.

Remuneration for this role will be $60118.00 – $64468.00 plus 10% superannuation.
This position is considered an ‘authorised worker’ and as such, in accordance with government requirements the successful candidate will be required to demonstrate evidence of an approved COVID-19 vaccination or authorised medical exemption.
