Full Job Description
In this profile you’ll need to wear many different hats; the planner, the problem-solver, etc. You should have the skills to communicate with various people, handle budgets and logistics, and keep all educational programs running.
Responsibilities
Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issuesCheck electrical and hydraulic systems of buildings to ensure the functionalityPlan and oversee all repair and installation activitiesAllocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (custodians, janitors, etc.)Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessaryMonitor expenses and control the budget for maintenanceManage relationships with contractors and service providersKeep maintenance logs and report on daily activitiesEnsure health and safety policiesEnsure the school complies with relevant laws and regulationsDevelop and run an educational programCommunicate with parents, regulatory bodies, and the publicImplement actions that improve the school and the quality of education (e.g. building renovations, new guidelines for students, new subjects)Help shape and uphold the vision of the school
Requirements
1. Proven experience as a maintenance manager or another managerial role
2. Experience in planning maintenance operations
3. Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
4. Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
5. Ability to keep track of and report on activity
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
7. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
8. High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage.
Preference will be given to Ex-Army Serviceman.
