This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work as part of the KPMG Resource Management Team, focussing on the capturing of demand and the deployment of colleagues in India and the UK to projects.

Resource Management is about having the right people, with the right skills, on the right projects, at the right time. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to balance the commercial needs of the business with the aspirations and development needs of colleagues.

Day to day there will be opportunities to demonstrate a wide range of skills, from negotiation and stakeholder management, through to problem solving and the ability to turn analytical insight into tangible actions.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Demand Management

• Attend pipeline calls with partner and director level stakeholders, understanding the current and future projects in your business area, the priority status of different accounts and the resources required to deliver them.
• Manage the demand capturing process for your business area, ensuring that all resource requests (sold and non-sold work) are logged by requestors in the Demand Management Tool and that the data in the tool is kept clean and up-to-date.
• Manage and action a large volume of competing demand requests at the same time, keeping all stakeholders informed of progress and providing timely and innovative solutions to complex project requirements.

• Provide weekly demand insights for your stakeholders, highlighting any skill sets in high demand or which constitute a large percentage of the pipeline, to enable workforce planning decisions to be made.

Supply Management

• Manage the deployment of client-facing colleagues based in India and the UK onto projects, being able to decide on best-fit allocation based on a range of factors e.g. availability, skills and role requirements.

• Understand individuals’ skill sets, experiences and aspirations and support their career development by aligning them to suitable projects.

• Understand the process around shortfalls and the prioritisation of resources between different requests when resource supply is limited.

• Proactively link in with engagement managers to understand flexibility in live projects, in order to move staff around to fill critical shortfalls.

• Work closely with other Resource Managers based in the UK and India to ensure the lending and borrowing of resources between teams where needed.

Resourcing Tools

• Drive the use of ProFinda, KPMG’s skills mapping tool, to ensure that all colleagues have a detailed profile outlining their skills and experience, in order to support effective resource deployment on projects.

• Manage Retain for your business area to capture all up-to-date bookings (project work, business development activity, training, holidays etc) and availability, in order to create accurate views of forecast utilisation and capacity.

• Use Retain to plan delivery teams for upcoming projects in your business area, in order to identify resource conflicts and shortfalls.

• Use the Demand Management Tool as a central platform from which to view and action all of your open resource requests, and to identify opportunities to share resources with other resource managers based on their project requirements.

• Manage the approval of new contractor spend and the extension of existing contractors through the ServiceNow tool, liaising with hiring managers to assess and approve or decline requests based on the business case.

MI Reporting

• Produce detailed weekly commentary highlighting trends around current and forecast utilisation and provide recommendations to stakeholders on how to improve and maintain these KPIs.
• Monitor time charged against business development and admin codes and support colleagues billing to these codes to move into client projects.

• Monitor and analyse SAP v Retain variances, producing a weekly summary for leadership outlining the reasons for the variances and making recommendations for reducing future variances.
• Produce weekly commentary highlight missing or incomplete timesheets and escalate non-compliance to leadership to ensure that all chargeable time is billed correctly.
