Your Role and Responsibilities
Your Role and Responsibilities :
As Linux Administrator, you are responsible for design, development, implementation and support Linux/Unix infrastructure on both on-premises and cloud Environment.
Responsibilities:
Provisioning physical and virtual Linux servers in standalone or cluster configuration
Linux post-installation activities, include security hardening, backup, monitoring, printing, and standard build tasks
Applying the latest security, enhancement and regular patches to the Linux/Unix servers, along with management tools
Change management tasks for minor, major and emergency changes
Providing support for Linux incidents and service requests
Troubleshooting with support vendors to resolve issues
Assisting with any firewall / DNS requests related to Linux/Unix servers
Performing research as required to implement any new Linux/Unix components that are required for project and operations related requests
Preparing project and operational documentation, such as Run Books and System Operating manuals
Operationalizing new Linux servers / server changes, including transitioning the server specific knowledge to the Unix Support team

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Linux(RHEL ,Redhat,Solaris-Optional)
Maintenance and administration Linux OSInstalling and updating packages using YUM and Red Hat Satellite Server.Configration of Samba, NFS, NAS, Apache services in Linux Servers.Hardware troubleshooting, Tuning of kernel parameters to assist with customer’s needs.Configuring and implementing Linux kernel recompilation.Perform system trouble-shooting, performance tuning and capacity planning.Should has experience in planning and participating in DR testFile system management over SAN (EMC) Environment:Experienced in managing users and groups and assigning file access privileges, ACLs, changing ownerships of users and groups using chown, chgrp commands, modifying the file permissions using chmod, SUID, SGID, and Sticky bit commands according to the requirement.Efficient in installing, configuring and implementing the RAID technologies using various tools like Logical volume manager and File System.Experience of creating standard and Virtual I/O client LPAR using HMC.
