The Role

• To provide storage management services, support and product expertise for the implementation and ongoing support of backups and storage solutions across various customer accounts.

• The services provided include but are not limited to the follow.

• Experience in working on TSO, ISPF, JCL, VSAM, ISMF, JES2, Catalogs, Datasets (PS/PDS/PDSE/GDG), REXX, SAS, SDSF and Spool.

• Experience in working on storage products such as DFSMS / HSM / RMM / CA1 / Catalog management.

• Manage and Define SMS rules and ACS routines

• Expertise in hardware storage subsystems including IBM DASD (DS8K) / EMC, IBM Automated tape library and IBM Virtual tape library.

• Demonstrated experience of disaster recovery planning and performing the recovery test (Tape recovery / DASD Replication / Tape Replication) and Managing using Copy services CSM/GDPS.

• Provide the highest level of technical support, guidance and direction for products supported.

• Hand’s-on expertise with System z storage data migration products such as TDMF, FDRPAS etc) and migration using replication technologies such as Global copy / PPRC.

• Audit application backup policies and environments to ensure integrity of the backup and recovery activities.

• Participate in the recovery of application environments where required.

• Development and maintenance of backup and storage standards, procedures, policies.

• Proficient in working with high availability environment along with alignment to process (ITIL).

• Work with change and problem management tools.

• Provide technical assistance to the other members of the team.

• Hardware /software fault detection and correction – vendor liasing.

• 24* 7 support.

• Actively participate in the planning and implementation of storage and backup solutions.

• Investigate, identify, document, and implement technical standards as required.

• Perform business impact analysis and risk assessments to reduce the likelihood of significant service outage or disasters.

Who You Are

Specializes in installing, maintaining and upgrading internal computer hardware and software systems used for designing and developing products. Controls user access and passwords. Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system. Monitors usage and performance.
