Full Job Description
As a TBM Operator, the person will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the TBM during tunneling project.
Operate and control the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) according to project specifications and guidelines.
Monitor and maintain proper machine performance, including cutter head rotation, thrust, cutter disc changes, and other parameters as required.
Collaborate with the TBM maintenance team to ensure regular equipment inspection, maintenance, and repairs, while identifying and reporting any operational issues promptly.
Interpret technical drawings, project plans, and geological information to ensure accurate alignment and advancement of the TBM.
Maintain accurate records of tunneling progress, machine performance, and daily activities.
Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to minimize risks to personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Coordinate with other members of the construction team, including engineers, geologists, and surveyors, to optimize tunneling operations.
Troubleshoot and address minor mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues that may arise during operations.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to provide updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Assist in training new TBM operators and other personnel on TBM operations and safety procedures.
