Job Role:
Failure analysis of Plastics, Rubber automotive raw material and components.

Plastic and Rubber material characterization using analytical instruments like DSC, FTIR, TGA, GCMS, GPC, XRF, SEM-EDX. Fracture analysis of plastics/rubber.

Root cause analysis using analysis tools like WHY-WHY analysis, Ishikawa diagram, Process audits, other QC tools etc.

Basic Plastic & Rubber physical testing like Tensile, HDT, Impact, Shrinkage, Heat ageing /Oil ageing, Ozone etc.

Failure case briefing to senior management and to relevant internal customer.

Failure Data analysis – for deduction of root cause and counter measures.

Basic analytical machine (said above) operation ,maintenance quantitative and qualitative analysis.

Basic know how of Oil/Fuel testing and instrument analysis using GCMS, ADU, Sulphur analyzer, Chloride analyzer, FTIR (fuel oil) , GC-FID, GC-PONA.

New Initiatives & Innovative analysis methods for failure analysis.

Capability development(procurement know how)/ Trainings to subordinates.

Flexible for working in shifts & travel, prioritize analysis during critical time.

Job Responsibilities

Would be responsible for sample preparation for failure analysis of Plastics, Rubbers & other organic components of automotive.

Would be responsible for basic polymer analytical machine installation, periodic maintenance and troubleshooting for analytical instruments like DSC, FTIR, TGA, GCMS, GPC, XRF, SEM-EDX etc.

Would be responsible for failure root cause analysis using analysis tools like WHY-WHY analysis, Ishikawa diagram, etc.

Would be responsible for Plastic & Rubber physical testing like Tensile, HDT, Impact, Shrinkage, Heat ageing /Oil ageing, Ozone etc.

Would be responsible for Plastic compounding and molding processes, along with molding trouble shooting and root cause analysis, also for rubber molded parts.

Would be responsible for presenting root cause analysis & reports in senior management briefings/meetings.

Would be responsible for Failure Data analysis – for deduction of root cause and counter measures.

Would be responsible for Basic analytical machine (said above) operation and maintenance.

Would be responsible for New Initiatives & Innovative analysis methods for failure analysis, data analysis and deducing logical conclusions from data/part history / application.

Would be responsible for Capability development / Trainings to subordinates.

Competencies / Skills

Should be well versed with Plastic (PP, Engineering) part making processes like injection molding, compression molding, extrusion etc.

Well versed with automotive material basics tooling and mold maintenance know-how.

Understanding & knowledge of standards and international (ASTM, ISO, JIS, DIN, IS) related to Polymers.

Hands-on working experience on Plastic/Rubber part processes like injection molding, compression molding, extrusion etc.

Hands-on working experience on mechanical and chemical testing of Plastics and Rubbers

Should be well versed with Polymer materials used for Automobiles and should be able to conclude and give opinion in case of Quality Problems.

Clear & Good communication skills.

Ability to work in lean, multi-tasking environment, flexible shifts and times.

Flexible to relocate in case of need(plant shift).

Should be able to independently handle responsibilities and projects.

Specific Expertise for Functional area

Should be well versed with various Plastic, Rubber and Engineering plastic grade, plastic development.

Should be well versed with auto part functioning, molding know-how and Plastic (PP, Engineering) part making processes like injection molding, extrusion etc. and hands-on working experience.

Having experience in Automobile Industry (4/2 wheeler / LCV ) & Plastic raw material maker, Plastic molding Industries, Research Institute/Lab

Openness & positive attitude to work in team & in shifts.
