Our client is a leading global organization that primarily issues credit cards, processes payments, and provides travel-related services worldwide. They lead the market in providing highly secure and scalable solutions for the masses.
Job Description
Build relationships to enable strategy and policy formulation for the client with main regulatory bodies – RBI, relevant ministries (Finance, Electronics, IT, Housing, and Urban Affairs), and high cadre officials in the government.
Monitor closely the evolution of policies related to payments and other financial services areas.
Conducting research, hosting thought leadership events, and handling the policy communications with the relevant external and internal stakeholders.
Working closely with the leadership team and being a single source of truth for all policy-related matters.
Ensuring prompt representation amongst the industry bodies like – NAASCOM, Internet and Mobile Association of India, Payment Council of India, and India Payments Network Risk Forum.
Working closely with the US consulate and trade representative, establishing strong US – India trade partnerships.
Align with external and third parties influencing the policymaking – consumer groups, merchant groups, and other bodies in the BFSI and regulation space.
The Successful Applicant
Must be having a minimum of 14+ years of experience in government advisory.
Have previously worked in IT – Technology, BFSI, Consulting space with a deep understanding of relevant policies.
Lead the India team and strongarm the client’s presence aligning public policy issues to core business objectives.
Extremely strong communication and leadership skills to work closely with the India and US/UK leadership.
Strong technical knowledge of various regulations related to payments in India.
Ability to deal with sensitive information while adhering to high ethical standards.
