Job Description

ýff Storage Fundamentals – Sound Knowledge of storage architecture. Understanding of cross platform connectivity of storages and other devices within fabric. Basic fundamentals of NetApp 7mode and cluster mode both ýff SAN Topologies and SAN components – Work experience with SAN environment in at least 2 different storage environments based on NetApp storage products (cluster mode preferable). ýff NetApp Administration which includes 3250, 6240 & 8080 FAS boxes, for both 7mode and Cluster Mode Data ONTAP 8.2.X & 8.3.X modules (including bug patches). Configuration of Work Flow Administration (WFA), Storage load balancing, provisioning of new volumes & DB LUNs, provisioning of CIFS/NFS shares, permissions & accessibility troubleshooting, Storage Virtual Machine (SVM) creation, SVM Load Balance, Storage load balancing for optimal performance. NetApp storage performance issues which includes hands-on experience in Performance Manager and OCUM, configuration and troubleshooting on OCUM sync with rest of the devices within fabric. Cluster peering along networking fundamentals will be an advantage. ýff Firmware upgrades for Disk Shelves, ONTAP upgrades (one which newly introduced), Proficient in SnapMirror & SnapVault techniques, proficient in Data Fabric Manager (DFM) including policy creation & management, relationship creation & troubleshooting related issues. Installation & management of Snap Manager for SQL (SMSQL) and Snap Drive (SD) for both 7mode and cluster mode which includes addition of iSCSI sessions, DSM installation and troubleshooting. ýff PS/python/shell scripting will be an advantage, should be able to automate the basic requirement of reports and day to day activities apart from WFA ýff Fabric switches – Ability to identify the fabric switch and associate port issues with respect to storage ports. Should understand the best practises offered by NetApp for FAS modules. Understanding of Cisco switches is preferred. SAN Switch upgrades (one which newly introduced or have a bug fix) ýff Host integration and provisioning – Ability to troubleshoot the issues from host end in scenarios where storage is not visible from host. Should understand the network interfaces and associated SVMs and there IPs communicating hosts and troubleshooting of Backup software from host end. ýff Tools and active management – Good knowledge on all native storage management applications. Ability to track the storage activities. Ability to work on replication tools and techniques. Familiar with WFA, OCUM, Performance Manager, SAN switches and ONTAP versions
