Microsoft’s Cloud business is experiencing explosive growth, and the Capacity, Supply Chain & Provisioning (CSCP) organization is responsible for enabling the infrastructure underlying this growth. Our mission is to deliver the world’s computer with an industry-leading supply chain. CSCP is responsible for strategic sourcing, customer demand forecasting, capacity planning and management, supply chain planning and execution, capacity provisioning, and decommissioning and dispositioning of datacenter assets worldwide.
We at CSCP provide new H/W capacity for cloud and have a strong need to innovate continuously to scale our software solutions for rapidly growing Cloud business. With expanding H/W fleet, we need to expand our engineering muscle to predict/manage spares supply chain to ensure correct level of spares at right location at right time. It is not an easy ask when you think about mapping this problem for Microsoft data centers WW and all H/W offerings being offered.
We have an exciting opportunity in the CSCP Strategy & Transformation team for an Engineering Program Manager to evolve the Elevate financial controls and automation product area. Together with Finance, Supply Chain Operations, Data Science, and Software Engineering, this role will lead the planning, envisioning, and execution to build, configure, and implement systems that drive the right level of financial and operations controls and automation to support the Microsoft cloud infrastructure supply chain process. This position requires someone with a growth mindset, passion for leveraging data to improve processes and a great collaborator to work across teams.
Responsibilities
• Envision and lead the development of the next generation commodity supply chain management solutions that drives Microsoft’s Cloud Supply Chain
• Deliver innovations with projects that span the planning, sourcing and delivery supply chain areas with a product engineering mindset.
• Drive an inclusive planning process for each product or initiative, balancing partner input and driving alignment across Microsoft, especially teams in software engineering, operations, and data science teams.
• Break ambiguous and complex problems into a manageable list of epics and features through clear and comprehensive specification writing.
• Proactively mitigate critical risks to the product roadmap.
• Market both in-flight and envisioned product capabilities to GM level leaders, influencing for impact.
• Employ data analytics to continually measure and improve product performance.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• BS in Engineering or Computer Science or other Quantitative fields.
• 7+ years combined experience into Program Management, Product Management, Data Science, Operations Research, Software Development, technical/engineering role(s).
• 5 years of experience leading product management and/or implementing supply chain systems.
• 3 years of experience presenting and communicating effectively to director level stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong understanding of supply chain fundamentals
• MS degree in a quantitative field.
• 5 years strong data analysis skills leveraging SQL, Power BI, Kusto, Python, or R.
• 5 years expertise in supply chain, specifically Demand Forecasting.
• 5 years demonstrated leadership skills-proven in creating clarity, generating energy, and delivering success.
• Proven success in collaborating across engineering, business, data science, and operational teams, up to and including working with director level stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
• 3+ years demonstrated proficiency in executive level presentations and communications.
• Ability to quickly learn existing concepts and employ new techniques.
