Introduction

1. The Office of the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Pune, a regional office of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, invites applications for engaging Young Professionals on a contract basis for a period of one year for their office in Pune.

About DGFT

1. DGFT is responsible for the formulation and implementation of the Foreign Trade Policy, with the main objective of promoting exports from the country. The Directorate also issues scrips/authorizations to exporters and monitors their corresponding obligations through a network of regional offices.

Vacancy Details

1. The total number of Young Professionals to be engaged on a contract basis in the Office of the Joint Director General of Foreign Trade, Pune, is three (03).

Eligibility Requirements

Age Criteria:

• The applicant should not have crossed the age of 35 years as of the closing date of applications.
• The applicant should be in good health to effectively discharge official duties.

Discipline-Eligibility Criteria

Economics-Graduate/Master’s in Economics from a recognized University

Law-LL.B./LL.M. from a recognized University*

Management/Business Administration-Graduate/Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from a recognized University

Commerce-Graduate/Master’s in Commerce from a recognized University

• Preference will be given to law graduates/postgraduates.

Experience:

• One year of experience in the relevant field is desirable.

Remuneration

• A consolidated remuneration of ₹60,000/- per month will be paid to the Young Professionals.

Period of Engagement

• Engagement will initially be for one year, from the date of joining, which can be extended or curtailed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.

Terms and Conditions

1. a. Consolidated remuneration of ₹60,000/- per month (minus Professional Tax/TDS as applicable) will be paid, subject to periodic work completion certification by the Controlling Officer. No additional allowance or facility will be provided.
2. b. Engagement is purely on a contract basis for an initial period of one year.
3. c. Submission of a medical fitness certificate from a recognized physician is mandatory before commencement of work.
4. d. Individuals must maintain adequate insurance, including life and health insurance, at their sole expense.
5. e. Verification of educational qualifications and experience will be conducted. Submission of false documents will result in immediate termination and legal action.
6. f. Selection will be purely on merit.
7. g. Working Hours:

• Normal working hours are from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on working days, with a half-hour lunch break.
• In case of exigencies, Young Professionals may need to work late or on weekends/holidays.
• h. Leave Policy:
• 1.5 days of leave per completed month on a pro-rata basis (with prior approval).
• Unutilized leave cannot be carried forward.
• Women professionals may avail maternity leave as per the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017.
• i. Must comply with the Official Secrets Act, 1923, and ensure confidentiality of official information.
• j. Prohibition on using the name, emblem, or seal of the Government of India/DGFT without prior written permission.
• k. Young Professionals are expected to maintain high moral character, integrity, and dedication. Unsatisfactory performance will lead to immediate termination.
• l. No entitlement to compensation or claims in case of death, injury, or illness during the contract period.
• m. Submission of police verification and medical fitness certificates is mandatory before engagement.
• n. Either party may terminate the engagement by giving 30 days’ notice or pay in lieu thereof.
• o. The contract commences from the date of joining at DGFT.
• p. Engagement will not confer any future claim for employment in DGFT or any other government department.
• q. Young Professionals may be required to travel within India; TA/DA will be paid as per Central Government norms.
• r. Submission of a Non-Disclosure Agreement and Non-Compete Agreement is required at the time of joining.
