Innovation & Automation CoE

The Morgan Stanley Labs Team is a responsible for the availability, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, support and capacity planning of Morgan Stanley Labs. Labs include a significant on-premises data center in NY, as well as large footprint in public cloud, known as the Innovation Lab, governing thousands of assets and resources of a wide variety such as desktops, servers, and network appliances etc., used by almost every group within Moran Stanley Technology. The team performs rapid, safe, evaluation of technology, and is responsible for the strategy, standards and operations of Morgan Stanley’s technology labs globally, providing critical services for all phases of the technology lifecycle, from initial research through to production problem post-mortems and investigations. This work also covers all technologies and all of our lines of business, from low latency trading to cloud, AI/ML, data, mobile applications, etc. Each team member in Labs is responsible for Operational Support of Lab users L1, L2 and L3 for Windows, UNIX, Networking and storage issues.

Job Profile

We are looking for an experienced, professional Business Analyst to join our growing team in Bangalore. While broad range of technical skills is critical, successful candidates will lead the continuance development of automation, support, and self-service of Labs, primarily driving strategy and liaising with senior stakeholders and reporting on ongoing projects. This is a high visibility, high impact role reporting to the Global Head of Innovation Labs.

Be part of an Agile Fleet or squad and participate in all phases of the Agile lifecycle, including working with the Product Owner to understand business requirements, refining/grooming JIRA user stories, leading and coordinating design discussions and end to end testing.

• Analyze functional and technical requirements, document with use cases, wireframes, data flow diagrams, sample reports, or other similar artifacts.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders from business, technology, UX, risk, legal & compliance to elicit requirements
• Acting as the interface and advocate between the business users and the development teams.
• Proactively identify and manage issues to full resolution and providing status updates on progress.
• Conduct review sessions with the various stakeholders on the artifacts
• Highlight risks/issues during the SDLC

Skill Set

Primary Skills / Must have:

• Highly motivated individual with prior business analysis experience in a fast paced environment
• Critical thinking and translation of business needs into technology solutions
• Good problem solving skills
• Excellent root cause analysis and reporting skills
• Excellent Jira Admin and management skills- creating JQL Queries, reporting using Jira, creating filters/dashboards in jira for different views and reports etc.
• Experience with metrics gathering, tracking, and reporting
• Ability to analyze vague project requests and clarify into specific tasks, next steps and deliverables
• Excellent written/oral communication skills and listening skills and an ability to present ideas concisely
• Expert Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio and JIRA
• Flexible, highly adaptable and excellent team player as project evolves
• Credibility and confidence interacting with senior management, business partners, branch offices and the technology team across the full lifecycle of a project
• Excellent report automation and report creation abilities.
• Fast learner, should be able to extrapolate information and created automated reporting from multiple sources using Jira, UI Path and other automation tools.

Qualifications/Criterion

• Bachelor’s Degree (Masters preferred)
